Hi All ! I'm trying to add a dtml-document to my site, still i am having some problems with the location. If i write something like: <dtml-call "PARENTS[0].DIR.manage_addDTMLDocument(id=pagename,title=pagetitle,file=page )"> It creates all fine : ) BUT... If the location where i want to create the DTML Document, is recieved like a parameter All goes wrong... (something like) <dtml-var location> -> has the string 'PARENTS[0].DIR1.DIR2' which is the place where i desire to create the document.then i try this: <dtml-call "_[location].manage_addDTMLDocument(id=pagename,title=pagetitle,file=page)"> I think this is more a string problem, anyway if anyone had this problem or have any idea how to get over this, i'll be apreciatted thanks in advance regards Nuno

Add python class to Zope.

Hi! I found some python sources which declared "class" inside. I tried to call the function inside this class with external method and python script but it didn't work out. For examples: Guestbook.py class Guestbook: def __init__ .... def signGuestBook .... def feedBack. .. How can I call the function "feedBack" to Zope? Thank you! pattreeya .

Wrapping pre-existing content

All, I'm looking for ideas, so don't be afraid to shout any comments out. I have a hierarchy of 'documents', lots of them circa. 300 and the number will continue to grow (dramatically). These 'documents' could be of any type, XML/HTML/Images etc. What I want to do is to have some way of wrapping these documents to include a header and footer, but I want to do this at render time not before. I've got a naive Python Script (restricted) that looks like this: #=================== import string a=context.restrictedTraverse(string.join(traverse_subpath,'/'),0) if a.meta_type == 'Folder': a=a.default_html h=context.aspire_html_header_orig(None,context) f=context.aspire_html_footer_orig(None,context) c=a(None,context) return h+c+f #=================== However this has problems when rendering the header and footer (h & f), it's somehow losing the namespace and things such as PARENTS are no longer available. Zope/MySQL problem

Has anyone come across anything like this ? I have a site www.tunedb.org which is using a MySQL backend. We are getting this error Error Type : Operation Error Error Value : (1100,"Table 'n' was not locked with lock tables") When anyone submits a search (e.g. Searh by Tune name) This seems to have been triggered when someone dip a query to the site which addressed a results page directly eg http://tunedb.nipltd.net/tunedb/tune_details_results.html?tune_id=23&tune_n… After that everyone gets the error until I restart Zope - (closing an re-opening the MySQL connections has the same effect). I have four MySQL connections open. Hi, I had some problems in the past using zmxodbcda and sql7. What version of sqlserver drivers are you using? PythonScripts and REQUEST, RESPONSE objects

Hello zop'ers I'm doing most of my work with pythonscripts but I have some problems with it: whenever a pythonscript needs to invoke objects like REQUEST or RESPONSE, I have to put those objects at the paramter list and then, when invoking the pythonscript I have to pass those objects to it. This brings me 2 problems: the syntax is much longer, instead of having: <dtml-var MyMethod> I have to type now: <dtml-var "MyMethod(RESPONSE=RESPONSE , REQUEST=REQUEST)"> the other problem is that from now on this object requires to be called from a dtml-method (because it needs these RESPONSE and REQUEST objects as parameters) is there a cleaner solution than doing this? back to my php days, I remember a similar issue with variable scopes on functions, but there were 3 workarounds to access those out-of-scope variables: 1. pass it in the argument list (just like in pythonscript) 2. declare the variables as global (global $foo, $bar) 3. access them thru a $GLOBAL['foo'] $GLOBAL['bar'] is there any similar solution at python script like example 2 and 3? or is it a must to pass those objects in the parameter list? if that's the case: how am I supposed to invoke those pythonscripts from other pythonscripts? so far I've noticed dtml methods being very limited in functionality (but at least they can reach any object) while pythonscript is very flexible in functionality but way too annoying to be used, as it sometimes depends on dtml methods to be called from, so it can be passed objects that cant reach by itself. Isnt there a more integrated and independant solution than this ugly dmtl/pythonscript method mixture ? Hope to be wrong about all this. if I am, please let me know =) Thanks. Alex

YIHAW add/del newsitem

Hello, I'd like to add and delete Newsitems to a Yihaw folder from my own methods. My methos is in my /admin (DTML-) folder and the new NewsItem should be in /news (Yihaw Folder). I tried to do this: <dtml-with news> <dtml-var "YihawNewsItem_add(REQUEST=REQUEST,RESPONSE=RESPONSE)"> </dtml-with> But that just gives a traceback (please find it below). How can I add and delete news items to my news folder? I don't want my editorial stuff to log into the management screen.
