enumerating files in a folder

I'm getting really mad at myself now. I have a folder call 'stuff'. In the stuff folder I have a python script call getStuff which looks like this return container.objectValues('ZopePageTemplate') Then, in the parent folder I want to use TAL to list the templates in the stuff folder. I do <li tal:repeat="dept container/departments/getDepartment"> <a href="test" tal:attributes="href dept/getId" tal:content="dept/getTitle">Test</a></li> <li tal:omit-tag>test</li> It keeps comming up empty... what simple thing have I missed? or is there a better way?

newbie; using isAnonymousUser in DTML doc

Hi.. How do I use the isAnonymousUser() method in a dtml-if tag? I want to execute one block of DTML/HTML code if no user is logged in. I'm sure this is eas but I haven't got it to work yet. how to use datetime?

hi, i've been sweating with datetime objects the whole day, but still cant figure out some simple things: - documentation ? only in the zope api reference? - how do i make a datetime object which is now+2 hours? i'm sure there is a simple way, ... like DateTime()+2 which would be great if i could add hours, minutes or seconds so easy ... thanks for the help jonatan

Newbie Question - DTML syntax for referencing files with extensions

Hi all - I've been through the books and searched howtos, but can't find the trick. In short, I'm looking for the sytax to use to reference a file name that has an extension so that the extension is treated as a continuation of the filename and not treated as an attribute of a resulting non-existant object due to truncating the extension. I am also trying to manage acquisition selectively To put this is context, my goal is to create a list of links by looping through folders and their subfolders recursively. For each folder, if it has an icon to display, display it. If not list its title_or_id. Here is the non-functional code I would like to implement. dtml method: listuploads (found in the acquisition hierarchy) <dtml-in expr="uploadedpages.objectValues('Folder')" sort=id> # loop through subfolders of current context <dtml-with id only> # do not accidentally acquire the pageicon.gif of a parent folder <a href sequence-var-url> # make whatever is displayed a link to that folder's index_html <dtml-if expr="'pageicon.gif'"> # test the existance of a 'pageicon.gif' file in this folder <dtml-var pageicon.gif> # if found, display it <dtml-else> <dtml-var title_or_id> # if not found, display folder's title </dtml-if> <dtml-if expr="objectValues('Folder')"> # test if the current folder has subfolders <dtml-var listuploads> # if so, call this method recursively for the subfolders </dtml-if> </a> </dtml-with> </dtml-in> Questions - 1. Instead of the 'with only', is there a way to limit acquistion of pageicon.gif from the parent erroneously resulting in true in the if test? Properties of File objects in python script

Hi, the Zope Book says that I can check properties of objects via if object.hasProperty('siteMap') and object.siteMap: results.append(object) for instance. I just added a property 'dynscript' with the type String to some File objects and wanted to do some action if a File object just has such a property. So I did: name = "<some parameter of the script>" cont = container.content for file in cont.objectValues('File'): if name == file.getId(): foundname=name foundfile=file break if foundfile.hasProperty('dynscript') : return foundname.dynscript --> Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: dynscript Could anybody enlighten my why the example from the Zope book does not apply for my application? Kind regards Andreas.

ParsedXML 1.3 should have NO binary code to deal with. I repeat, no .so or .pyd files - as long as you have 1.3 for ParsedXML. If you have an older version of parsedxml, get rid of it. Please download PyXML for the version of Python loading zope. http://pyxml.sf.net if you don not already have it. This is all that ParsedXML 1.3 requires. How to log out?

If I visit a non-manage URL which requires authentication, my web browser pops up a dialog box prompting me for a username and password. Once logged in, is it possible to present a "logout" link for the user? I see a manage_zmi_logout link in the top ZMI frame. Installing Postgresql with Zope
