If a method in a Zope product has REQUEST as optional parameter: def something(self, REQUEST=None): ... why is the REQUEST always compared with None: if REQUEST is not None: .. instead of just: if REQUEST: .. ? - Willem

Why to find Logfile on zope server.

Hi, Can somebody pls tell me why the zope server saved the Logfile (activities of visitors to the sites). supposing I have diff websites on the zope server what I am going to do so that I can have each website with it own Logfile. ZCatalog and Meta Types

Hello I have a catalog full of catalogue aware objects (about 2,000). When I search for items of the meta_type "Commentoid" I seem to to get ALL the objects, hence my if filter below. Am I doing something wrong in my script or is my catalog wrong? ExternalEditor and M$ Word setup?

Hi Casey & lists We aim to use ExternalEditor as the crux of our CMF for end-users. When logged in to Plone, the ExternalEditor icon shows up with the user's content. Which strikes me as very, very cool. It works fine for plaintext content, but it will have to work with Microsoft Word (and/or OpenOffice). Currently, when I try this, Word tells me that it doesn't have an importer for this type of content (though it is a plain .doc file I'm editing), and opens the file as unconverted gunk with some recognizable text here and there. I'm guessing that this may be thanks to ExternalEditor's tempfile name. Does anyone have a ZopeEdit.ini that works with Word? -- Jean Jordaan http://www.upfrontsystems.co.za

newbie question on TAL

Hi all, I have created 3 new metadata (Elements) in portal_metadata (named "French_name", "Dutch_name" and "institution"). They are called by a python class (product). In the edit_form, I wish to call the values of the French_name and Dutch_name metadatas in a <select> tag using TAL; so I can select one of the values which will be placed in the institution metadata. I no that this is basic stuff , but I'm new to TAL and python. Thanks in advance for any answers. Fnk.

Hi, I dont know Suse, I am RedHat-ist,, but: ifdown sleep 1 rmmod _net_module_ sleep 1 modprobe _net_module_ sleep 1 ifup does not help you? I have similar problem at our corporate network with our server, but I think about bad switch (server works but for same network number only). Regards JL. ---------- Odes�latel: Bo M.
