Hi, Is there a product or script that can be used to move a Dtml files from one folder to another? I want to be able to move a dtml file created after 24 hrs from active folder to a dormant folder. How do I deal with UNpickelableError ?

It seems that lists are not pickelable. How can I store my results in a pickelable form? Can I? I'd like tu put online my work, when done, so I'd like not using products (like RAM based session managers), since I don't know how many of them are supported by my host. Please, please, please! Is there ANY possibility to put my objects in a pickelable set? Less importantly: How can I know wether an object is pickelable or not? How can I know WHO my object inherits from? In SmallTalk and Java I was used to class browsers and that did. How in Zope/python? Are dictionaries pickelable? How do I distinguish a list from a dictionary? Python scripts & DA objects

I have an specific need to manipulate Database objects directly with a python script, rather than by ZSQL methods. I notice methods called manage_insert, manage_join, and manage_update in the source, but I can't quite get the syntax right. Zope Labs doesn't have any example code for this that I can find. Has anyone done something like this? Alternately, Since I can't introspect through the ZMI- where can I find a list of all the methods a DA object supports?

I would like to know which permission controls the ability to change Data being entered in a DTML doc, not being able to change the Doc Itself. ie entering data into a database. I want to control access at the Object level. Thanks in advance. Lewie

stopping indexing of acquired attributes

I'm not really sure this is a problem but I have a feeling that it will bite me later on. Anyway.. I have defined a class that's both a container and has properties of its own. The class (it's a CMF class) derives from SkinnedFolder, PortalContent and DefaultDublinCoreImpl. The problem is that many of the attributes are only meaningful for the object itself, not for the contained objects. This doesn't really bother me, but I would like to avoid indexing (and putting in the metadata) these attributes. So, I cannot use attributes starting with _ to stop acquisition since this would preclude putting them in the index/metadata. I cannot use Aquisition.explicit since I have no control on the contained objects (in fact the purpose of having a class deriving on SkinnedFolder is to use existing types as content). I've tried, with no success, the following: class MyClass(SkinnedFolder, PortalContent, DefaultDublinCoreImpl): .... .... def MyAttr(self): if not isinstance(aq_base(self),MyClass): return None .... .... No success because when the method gets called self is an instance of MyClass, so the method never returns None. Any hint? Zope starting Probelm

Hi I have a probelm with starting the Zope server. cannot upload files on Win32 Zope

Hello, I recently installed Zope 2.5.1 on Windows NT 4, running as a service. I discovered that any time I try to upload a file through the ZMI, I get an error: Error Type: IOError Error Value: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '\\TEMP\\~278-10' I don't have this problem on my Unix installations of Zope nor on a Windows 98 installation. Odd problem after upgrading to 2.6

I upgraded to Zope 2.6 recently and when I log onto the server via http://staticip:8080 I get access but the left-hand frame of the ZMI is already expanded and "pointing" to a now deleted instance of a CMF. What happens is that I get a page not found error in the right-hand frame. I can click on the left-hand frame and navigate successfully after that, but it is a bit strange (and aggravating to a degree) that I get this behavior when others utilizing the system do not. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks, Kevin

If any of them depend on the actual value of the current working directory (shame on them!) they will be in trouble. If you know the absolute path, just use that. If you need a path relative to your module, you can get the module to tell you where it (or its owing package) is located and construct paths relative to that - that too is in the Python docs. mount backup ZODB (readonly)

Hi, I have a backup of a Zope instance on my disc. I want to get a tree of objects from that backup into my current zope server. Now I could bring zope down, switch the data.fs files, start Zope up, export it en switch back and import it. But I was wondering whether it is possible to mount another data.fs file (readonly) so I can do it in my running zope. I browsed through the products but I did not find anything.
