Errors after upgrading to Zope 2.5.0

I have upgraded my Zope installation to 2.5.0 and am experiancing difficulties. I am dreading having to recreate my Zope site again! My only add-on products were Yihaw and etcUserFolder. Since etcUserFolder doesn't exist anymore, I have installed extUserFolder instead. This error only occurs when I have my Data.fs.* files from my old site in the var directory. The original files that come with the Zope install don't give me these errors. Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Hi, a major problem I keep having is how to share data and still avoid conflicts in Zope. I'd like to have somethig like the static variables in C++ or Java. And if I am not mistaken, that is a serious Zope-weakness which causes the many many problems with connecting to databases. If anyone of you can tell me I'm wrong and why, I'd be happy. If not: any idea how to do it? If possible: a clean solution. I have two java-classes named BlowFishEnc and BlowFishDec for encryption and decryption using the blowfish-algorithm. I found them much to complicated to be translated into Python. They both take two String-args: password and text and return the encoded and decoded text respectively as a String. So I wrote an external module called BlowFish.py which contains two external methods that call the java-classes: BlowFishEnc and BlowFishDec. remote server web caching

Hey all! I had an interesting idea, that I thought would be pretty easy to implement in zope. I'm bringing it up to see if anyone else had done something similar, or if anyone had any ideas on how to best achieve it. Say I have a zope server at www.myzopeserver.com, and I have configured it to receive a form where the content is an URL. Then the server goes out and loads this page, downloads all the images, then rewrites the image links so they point to the ones stored on myzopeserver.com/cache/ or something. Finally it displays the modified html, which should be indistinguishable from the "real" page. Any thoughts on this? Any problems you can see with implementing this that I'm missing? -ed-

Tim, Thanks for your reply. I found RDFSummary last night when I somehow landed at the Zope User Group HongKong website. I installed RDFSummary 2.0 as per instructions in the README file. I am running Zope 2.50 on Win2K. Under the Zope Root folder I a test folder where I created an RDFSummary object pointing to Slashdot. The id of this RDFSummary object is called "slashdot". In the "test" folder, I created a dtml method called "index_html". ZSQL Method against Postgresql returns int

I have a table in a postgresql database that is type float. Querying this table through a ZSQL Method returns the values of that row as an int. I'm using postgres 7.1, PoPy 2.0.8, and ZPoPyDA 2.0.8. Mac OS X.1.2 and Zope 2.5.0 woes...

I'm having a problems on Mac OS X.1.2 I'm trying to build Zope from Zope-2.5.0-src using python2.1_macosx binary distribution and am getting errors. I read jens docs and made sure to use the gnutar to extract the gztar file. Supported platforms and versions of Python

Hi all, I'm looking into Zope as a work project. I have read the docs and would just like to ask about supported Python versions and operating systems. The docs say that you need Python 2.1. I can download 2.1.2 and 2.2. Is 2.2 supported ? The reason I ask if 2.2 is supported leads to my next question. I am trying to get Zope running on Mac OS X. The only version of Python that I can get to compile and install is Python 2.2. Python 2.1.2 does not appear to compile.
