Hi Tim, I did exactly as you told me to do. The following is the python script sql="Select * from LinkArea" results = container.sql_method(the_sql=sql) for i in results: print i return printed and below is the ZSQL method: <dtml-var the_sql> when i do this, it gives me the instances, something like this.. <r instance at 01674978> <r instance at 015DAED0> <r instance at 01674978> <r instance at 015DAED0> I do not understand this. --madhavi

The problem appears in 2.4.1 - 2.5.0, what makes me think, that it is caused by the changes (a change) 2.4.0 -> 2.4.1. Maybe the problem is inside my products, and 2.4.1 - 2.5.0 does stricter checks during refresh? Zope 2.5.0 sources + OpenBSD 2.9, bug!

hello, i'm Giulio... Under OpenBSD 2.9 the "tar xvzf Zope-2.5.0-src.tgz" command extract correctly the sources, but truncate the name of 3 files and "python wo_pcgi" give me an error! ISO-8859_1_Splitter.c is truncate to ISO-885 and is trucate: UnicodeSplitter.c and ZopeSplitter.c too. If i rename the files and launch "python wo_pcgi" all is ok! Hi Jim, Thank you very much. But i want to use Python scripts to write the sql queries and not ZSQL methods. I have my ZODBCA installed and have created a obdc connection to the MS-SQL database. Can i use this (i mean the connection object) some how in the python script and query the database. --Madhavi

Looking if a record with a given key exists in a database several times, in dtml

Hi all! I have a problem: in dtml, I have to iterate through a very big list and for each item I must look if there is a record with that key in a database. I can't run a 'select' ZSQLMethod for each, because it would take too long. What I want to do is run the 'select' ZSQLMethod once and load the results in a variable (an array or dictionary) which then will be faster to look up in, or look up in the results of that query in some fast way. I have searched zope.org, but found nothing. Any ideas? Igor Leturia

strange PCGI installation problem

Hi, I am trying to set up Zope behind apache with PCGI. Apache runs, Zope runs and they talk to each other over a unix socket. The strange thing is that when I try to connect to the root directory of my zope site (www.mydomain.com) I get a Apache directory listing. Thus it seems like Zope is not running. However, when I use the URL www.mydomain.com/manage I get the login promt and the management screens. Has anyone ever seen something like this before (and solved it?) Hi, I'm looking for my error. I have a first HTML's page. When I connect the first time ( I'm Anonymous) I have the response error : Error type : NameError Error value : global name 'lid' is not defined. When I recognize myself in the site and I call my first HTML's page, nothing wrong, all lokks fine.
