Zope.org site trouble?

There seem to be a lot of "broken" links on the zope.org site. Most of the nav points to some subobject of 10.0.11.3:138. Anyone else having this problem? Is the site temporarily broken? Kevin

Hello together Can anybody tell me, how I can add a ZPT-File in a Class in Python. The file should be in the class after add... You _can_ do some neat stuff with it quickly, but it's pretty slow, and extremely awful to work with under the hood. mid-level architecture question -- populating forms

I am putting together a site with that accesses and updates a database. The essential structure is this: the web-user is presented with a form and provides enough information for the web application to find the desired information in the data base. This key information is passed to a External Method that accesses the data base and determine which of a number of forms are needed to manage the update. The External Method then has a number of choices vis-a-vis how to publish the form. Based on the key provided by the application and the data in the database, it can computed the name of a static form. It can then 1) construct a URL for the form with parameters to fill in the blanks, e.g., specialised_form_1?field1=somedata&field2=moredata and so forth. I'm not sure how one would invoke this as I suspect getitem() would be confused. 2) evaluate the data values and put them in the REQUEST object, then pass down the string 'specialized_form' to the page where the form is to appear, generate the form with a <dtml-var expr="getitem(form-name,1)"> and have the form look up the fill-in-the-blanks data in the REQUEST object. 3) generate the form on the fly (probably from a home-grown template) and fill in the data directly. 4) .... I'm leaning towards 2) but am still not really sure it's the best approach. Comments? -d PS: Zope 2.5, dtml-ish site not templates.

Hi all I have made some tests with webfolder (win2k and officeXP), perhaps anyone can understand the results...If I open a word doc in a webfolder, I must wait 30-40 minutes before I can reopen it in write-mode. But if I have two web-folder, A and B, that point to the same Zope Folder with the document d.doc, and I open/modify/close d.doc from A, then, if I reopen d.doc from A, it is read-only, but if I open d.doc from B, it is in write-mode. After 10 minutes, if I reopen d.doc from A, it is in write-mode and so on... This is very strange for me. Michele

web access logs when behind Apache pcgi and authenticated user

Is there a way to get correct web access logs including authenticates user and originating hostname when Zope is behind Apache through pcgi? Details: Z2.log displays authenticated user when Zope is the direct webserver. When Zope is behind Apache, Z2.log becomes useless. It does not list authenticated users (at least when using exUserFolder) and all connections seem to come from 127.0.0.1 (localhost). The apache log lists correct originating IP or domain name, but not the authenticated user. -- Milos Prudek
