Different stylesheet for different browsers

Hi, How can I use one stylesheet for Netscape and older browsers and another for Mozilla, IE, Opera etc ? Is there an easy way to detect browser type and use a specified stylesheet for that browser? Preferrably not Zope specific, but perhaps javascript or CSS, I don't care. As long as its cross-browser it's ok. Best regards, Thomas Weholt

Hi Robert - I understand your frustration installing PIL. I have been trying off and on for a couple months. The Pythonware site since March has said the Windows binary will be posted 'later this month'. I requested an installer from the Image group and the file I received hangs at the point that the installer wants the Python path identified. Per the readme, the source files on Pythonware reportedly require a C+ or VB compiler that I do not have access to. I have followed the threads in this group and as best I can tell, people are installing an older Zope (2.3.3) to use the older binaries and some have been dropping the incremental patches and revisions over time as the development programmers announce them. No one has shared their log of what files were added in what order. I, too, don't know how to do a new Win32 setup of Zope2.5.1 and its included Python release and have PIL available to Zope. I have no clue how to determine where Python sets its path to know what directories are in it and to add the PIL directory to it. It would be great if someone could post a how-to readable by newbies that specifically linked to the current versions of all needed files instead of another endless search of 'somewhere in the sourceforge site'. I inquired once with Python Labs and their response is 'buy a support package' for $2K and we'll point you to the latest files. Until I can demo this stuff, I can't get a client to finance 'an interesting technology'. I wish I could help. Its extremely frustrating. If I get more clues, I will certainly share them with you. Spinning Zope and error message on W2K

Hi. Zope periodically spins upon a request, and this error is continually written to the STUPID_LOG_FILE: 2002-06-27T21:35:26 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x87\x86' Traceback (innermost last): File D:\zope\lib\python\ZODB\Connection.py, line 447, in setstate AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'load' OS is W2K and Zope is 2.5.1. I am using the ZODBC product if that is helpful. I've seen discussion on this topic in the forums, but have not found a clear answer as to why or how to correct. Any thoughts? Tried this change but I still do not get correct sorting. Thats what zope said when I made a new python script and entered something like: class AdsSecondClass: def __init__() blah blah as inspired by some example code. Why? All I really want is to store four integers on the server and have them updated by surfer actions. Thanks in advance, Ad.

Add PageTemplate: Undefined

[ I searched the archives and found some stuff replated to this but no answers. ] I have the PageTemplate product successfully installed. It works fine inside of a CMF site that I'm creating. I'd like to migrate to the use of PageTemplates for the rest of my site as well. When I select PageTemplate from the pulldown add box I get an error site which says the error, the entire error is "Undefined". Has anyone seen this before and solved it, and is willing to share the solution? mystified, -- Bryan C. Viewing SQL code being run

I'm learning to use sqlgroup to eliminate a lot of nearly identical queries, and so far have been happy with the results. But every so often I get a result that doesn't jibe with what should be returned, and I'm having a hard time figuring out where my mistake is. Is there any way to view the actual SQL that gets sent to the server after all the sqlgroup and sqltest tags are evaluated? External CSS via ZPTs

I'd like to use a CSS stylesheet editable within the Zope Management Interface, and refer to it from a LINK tag in the HEAD of each page. I'm just learning Zope, and trying to stick to ZPTs over DTML wherever possible. I searched Zope.org, and found mindlace's post of a "CSS & Zope howto" in 1999. It talks about using the LINK tag to incorporate external CSS that is still an editable Zope object, exactly what I want, but it's a DTML object, and I'm not sure how to replicate this line in a ZPT: From: http://www.zope.org/Members/mindlace/css_zope ---------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT: You must have the following line as the first line of your method: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'text/css')"> ---------------------------------------------- How can I have a ZPT act as my external stylesheet and set that response header? Todd, Looks like you are trying to use Python 2.2 with Zope-2.5.1. i believe that that leads to problems as there are significant differences between Python 2.2 and 2.1.*. You probably need to install python 2.1.3+ for Zope.
