I have python, python1.5, python2, python2.2 on my machince and no of them will work. I tried to install python2.1.3 however it keeps coming up with this message: libdb-3.2.so is needed by python2.1-2.1.3-1 And I can't find it anywhere. Any help will be great. Thanks, Todd

sorting SQL results with dtml-in - not working

Hi, I am trying to provide a way to re-sort sql results in the form of a table by column name. I have the column headings set as links which pass the sort order via the query string (<a href="http://ut-web/applications/iw/plancheck/show_all_html2?order=Company"> Company</a> ) On the called page, I have the following line to sort the sql results but it seems to sort by something else and seems to be different each time. <dtml-in list_all_records sort="<dtml-var order> reverse" size=10 start=query_start> Order is the name of the variable for each database field. For example, sort could equal "Company" For whatever reason, I am getting weird results. I am still pretty weak at dtml so I am not seeing why. Sean

Copy/Paste Fails in some Folders

Are there any reasons why a copy and paste would fail on a particular DTML document? I have objects that I can copy and paste into some folders but not others. Any idea why? You've probably already heard this by now, but there's an API way to create a ZSQLMethod. I don't know why, but the Zope book calls this "ZSQLMethod", while it appears to be called SQL in the actual Zope Source. Here's an example snipped out of my current project. I know the "import SQL as ZSQLMethod" is kind of weird -- I did that because I had already typed ZSQLMethod a whole bunch of times, and wasn't sure which was the "right" name. This code works, though. dbc = 'NaryaDB' # from Products.ZSQLMethods.SQL import SQL as ZSQLMethod #--------------------------------------------------------------------- getPostByNum = ZSQLMethod('addThreadStatus', 'Get a particular post', dbc, "number", """ SELECT post.username, post.post_time, post.postnum, post.body, user.tagline, user.avatar, user.nrecent, user.nposts, user.signature, user.www FROM post, user WHERE post.postnum = <dtml-sqlvar number type="int"> """ ) That's: <method-object> = ZSQLMethod(<method-id>, <method-title>, <DB-connection>, <method-arguments (no commas!)>, <method-ZSQL code>) Note that this creates the object -- I have this assigned as a class method in a Zope Product. I.e. it is assigned here in a module "ZSQLRead", then I assign from the module to the class method: import ZSQLRead class my_folderish_product(Folder): # ... lots of other stuff ... getPostByNum = ZSQLRead.getPostByNum' # ... lots more stuff ... You can call this from the web or from other Zope objects, just as if it were contained in the folder, but it doesn't appear in the mgmt interface and is not alterable. It also will automatically be updated when the product is changed, and it will exist for any number of actual instances of the product. If you want to see it in the management interface, you'll want to use "manage_addZSQLMethod(...)" instead. (But I don't explain that because I didn't do it that way -- it is mentioned in the Zope book as something like: object.manage_addZSQLMethod(<id>,<title>,<connection>,<args>,<ZSQL>) analogous to the above). The book calls this the "ZSQLMethod" class, so I had assumed the constructor would be invoked by "ZSQLMethod()", but I couldn't get that to work without the weird import ... as (This is Zope 2.5.1). XUF Upgrade Problem

Hi, I just upgrade my XUF from version 0.9.0 to version 0.10.9. Before this upgrade my login form was working fine, but when I upgrade to the latest version my login form stop working, i tried to loggon with a username and a password but I couldnt, for some reason cannot loggin in and dont know why this happens. In the upgrade process i did this: - Unpack the exuserfolder-0.10.9.tgz in my Product directory (overwritting the older version) - restart zope to take the changes - Verify in my product managment the version of the product, it was ok (exUserFolder-0-10-9) I also create a new user with my singup form and it works fine.. but the loging didnt Would somebody helpme please? gustavo

Hi Gary, I haven't been following this thread closely, so I don't know if this helps, but if you install the PY21 (Python 2.1) binary package from Python labs that has a working PIL included in it. Installation executable is here: http://www.pythonware.com/downloads/py21-20010906.exe Executable Python binary ends up in /py21/python.exe The py21 installation doesn't effect any other Python installations you may have on your machine. Understanding Members and acl_users

Hi, After some stranges signs of my site, one horrified me. I have a root Zope, and a CMFSite inside. I am recognized in Zope Root, I mean I am in acl_users. I am not in my CMFSite. strange sql problem

Hi all, I have the following directory structure: join\ create_method join_sql_methods\ util\ util_sql_methods\ Now I have a simple sql method A that reads in a value in a db table TB. In create_method I call a sql method B in join_sql_methods which creates a record in the table TB. In the same method after the call to create (B) I call the above mentioned sql method (A) to read off the value from the newly created record. The problem is if I place A in join_sql_methods it works perfectly and returns me the relevant data item. However if I place A in util_sql_methods it returns an empty result set. My DTML method looks like <dtml-call "B"> <dtml-call "join_sql_methods.A"> in the former case and <dtml-call "B"> <dtml-call "util.util_sql_methods.A"> in the latter case. Any ideas on why this happens?? error with libraries that I'm not using anymore

Hello, I have a problem using libraries in Zope. I have a Python script that calls a C++ code using libraries. Actually, at the begining I had a test.so library. But now I changed the way to compile my program and I have no test.so library anymore, and when I call my python script via Zope, I have this message : Error Type: ImportError Error Value: test.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory But I don't use the test.so anymore. And when I use the python script alone without Zope it runs whitout any problem! I tried to change the name of my external method to see if it was not a problem of cache but I have still the same problem... Does someone have an idea? FTP issue or Alternative

Hello All, I am trying to FTP images into various zope directories. Some of the images show in zope as 0k. When I check these out in the file system they are greater than 0k and I can view them. So I put like a 5 second sleep in my script before every image is ftp'ed. This method did reduce the number of 0k files however it did not eliminate the problem. I do not want to use the use 5 second method as the scripts takes a very long time to complete. Is there something I am not aware of? What other method can I use? Can I simply take a OS directory structure and import it into zope? I am not sure how. Can you point me some sample code or literature. Your help or guidance is much appreciated.
