I'm not sure, but I think what I did to cause this was clicking the drop-down on the preferences screen for the editor. There was only one selection, 'None'. Whatever I did to cause this problem I did from the user interface of plone, not the ZMI or editing python files. If it will help I can send the traceback from the Site error log. Does anyone know what the fix for this is? Further research indicates that the product is actually "Emmix Gene" which is a software package for Linux which is "...available freely for NON-COMMERCIAL use only.". Now, I still have no clue where Zope fits in, because all that's there is a bunch of elf binaries for Linux. Zope/Apache can't get either pcgi or fastcgi to work

Hi, I am using Debian stable and have installed the Zope 2.6.2 binary because I want to use Plone which in not packaged for Debian stable. Zope runs as as a user called zope from /usr/local/dc/zope. Zserver works fine on its own. CMF-1.3.3 installed along with CMFPlone-1.0.5. Debian stable has python 2.1.3-3.2 and apache 1.3.26-0woody3. Everything looks good but I can't get it to work with Apache. Spent many, many hours trying. Should I be trying to us pcgi or fastcgi? Can someone please show me some howto's? Thanks, Andy

RevisionManager on Windows

Hi, is there anybody who has used the Revision Manager Product on windows yet? In the product description it says it's for all platforms, but as paths are manipulated by the posixpath module I have some doubt. I get also the 'not properly configurated' feedback when I try to add an instance to the zope on my win box. (zope 2.6.2, win xp, wincvs 1.3.13b) any hints, experiences etc are most welcome, SK

newbie: ZTP, SQL, plone

hi, maybe i'm being trying too much too soon, but i'd appreciate help with the following (i'm new to zope but have used python for years and have some experience with jsp and similar web tech). i am using plone with postgresql. the DA is working. my problems are, i think related to ZTP and how to structure applications. i have the folder "timesheets" defined inside my root folder. as two subfolders i have "sql" and "ztp" in /timesheets/sql are two SQL methods: add_person and list_people. the SQL method /timesheets/sql/list_people returns a list of people from a table. this works (the "test" button produces results; the column name is "person"). but how do i get that data displayed in the ZTP page? i have a page in the /timesheets/ztp folder (also called "list_people") with the following text, but it won't compile: <ul tal:repeat="item /timesheets/sql/list_people"> <li tal:content="item/person">name</li> </ul> the error message is: Compilation failed TAL.TALDefs.TALError: Invalid variable name "" in expression '/timesheets/sql/list_people' my problem seems to be accessing the sql method that is "../sql/list_people" relative to the location of the ztp page. how i do this? or is the problem elsewhere? apologies if i've done soemthing very stupid! cheers, andrew -- http://www.acooke.org/andrew
