Page Template template?

Whenever I create a new Page Template, I'm presented with some pre-filled content. I'd like to change the content in it--is there any way I can do this for my not-quite-full hosting account? I've got a basic starter account which doesn't give me shell access or access to install Products, so if there was someway (acquisition?) to modify that didn't require that kind of access that would be great. I've tried adding a Page Template with name "Page Template" but that didn't do anything special ;-) Jay

Hello list, I am in need to compile zope from source , with apache on redhat 9. But as i am aware from the list previous discussion, redhat 9 has some libc problems , so please tell me what i have to takecare and which version of zope is compatable with redhat 9. New to Zope

Hello :) I'm just getting started with Zope. I"ve purchased (and am currently reading) the Zope Bible. I've also had a few looks through the Zope.org site. I was wondering if someone could point me to other sources of newbie-type documentation. I'm comfortable working with Python, but the jump to Zope seems to have left me twiddling my thumbs. Simple things, like why I can't use certain modules in "Script (Python)"s, how can I use Python to read the contents of another object, etc. I had jumped into Zope thinking that my knowledge of Python made it a good choice for me to develop web applications in Python with, but it seems I'm up for learning at least a handful of new technologies/acronyms (DTML, Zope API, and TAL/TALES/METAL). I looked through the zope mailling list archive page and it seems as though the numbers are slowly spiraling downward. I was surprised when I signed up for the list yesterday that there wasn't more traffic than there is. Are there other mailing lists or forums anyone would recommend for me to be a part of, something that'll let me ask all the stupid new guy questions? Thanks, Jay

I am wondering how others have solved this problem. Are people using cookies between the 2 sites (I would like to avoid this) or are people writing this info to a database? Any help would be much appreciated. ZopeTime() trouble.

I have two versions of Zope running... My clients version, which is Linux and an original Zope 1.10.3 ... (Awww... old, I know)... My local version, which is Win32 and Zope 1.10.3 ... (Old version, new installation, aye...) Now, after fighting an uneven battle against a Win32 installation of MySQL-Python/MySQLDA etc. for some time, I finally succeeded to import the application to my workstation. And incredibly enough, most of it worked, which I thoguht was too good to be true... eh ... Now, yes - really. It was too good to be true, because parts of the application pages proved to fail due to a couple of minor lines in the code... Now, it seems to be the following lines, related to ZopeTime and which format to use... (This actually works on the Zope 1.10 linux installation, but not on my Win32 installation)...  And another line...  Now, being the true Zope (python) newbie as I am, I admit this looks pretty cool. And logic. But the logic stops working right about why it works on one Zope 1.10.3 installation but not on the other. Is this ZopeTime() thing calling a function in Python? Is it a chance that my Python installation (Zope 1.10.3 comes with Python 1.5 eh?) is not the same as the one on the Linux box? ... Now, I think I have installed Python 2.2 on this workstation. (Any way I can check which Python version Zope calls except decoding those cryptic "innermost traceback" -messages? Any ideas? Workarounds? Also... would any of you guys happen to have documentation to Zope 1.10, eventually where I can find it? What I have is pretty limited, and my client doesnt really understand the words "hard to do", "obsolete" and "no documentation" ... he keeps repeating "you fix, you smart, you computer guy, right?" all the time ...
