hi Apologies if this is an incorrect list to post this. I'm currently using IE Editor for Zope from http://vsbabu.org/webdev/zopedev/ieeditor.html all works fine, a WYSIWYG tab appears on any *new* dtml document i create (followed the instructions and created a new ZClass derived from DTML Document). However the problem is that we have several hundred existing dtml docs and i cannot figure out how to add the tab to them, rather than creating them anew. Any advice appreiciated. VS: automatic navigation devices

Hei! I have with zope developed some simple e-learning program which teach users safety and security topics such as fire protection, first aid, environmental policy and so on. It is intended for hotel staff personnel.¨ The program is actually only a large number of web pages with information. As in a book this information is divided into chapters and subchapters. In zope this is done using folders. I have one folder called Fire_protection, one called First_aid and so on. These folders then have their subfolders, and subsubfolders. These folders share some methods like the standard_html_header, standard_html_footer, and a method for generating a table of contents at the first page in each chapter or subchapter. Now, at the bottom of each page, I have some navigation buttons. Depending on where you are in the learning program these are: previous, next, table of contents, first topic and back to start. The buttons are generated using a form action method like this: <td> <form action="<dtml-var first_topic>"> <div class="form-element"> <input class="form-element" type="submit" value="First Topic"> </div> </form> </td> The <dtml-var first_topic> refers to a property with the name first-topic that I manually give to the folder which holds the first topic in this chapter. The value of this property could for instance be fire_protection_11. Consequently, I have manually, and for each folder and subfolder on the entire site, created properties for previous, next, table of contents and first topic. Each time I create some subchapter somewhere in the site, I have to manually change the values of these navigation properties in the neighbor previous and next subchapter. This in order to have their navigation buttons point to my new subchapter. This is not very dynamic. Ideally I should have one navigation method in the rootfolder, that created all the navigation buttons on all the pages of each chapter and subchapter automatically. And if I added or deleted some chapter (folder) somewhere in the site, this navigation method should automatically update my navigation buttons. Do you have any idea of how I could create such a navigation method, or in any other way accomplish this? Best wishes and kind regards Børge Kjeldstad

Exceptions in Python Scripts

I want to get a handle to the exception raised in a Python Script try: x=1/0 except: print exception.id() print exception.traceback() is there a built in var for the exception object. I need the type of exception and perhaps the line number I understand i can't import sys so how is this done?? TIA

There is nothing to stop you from using a POST for submitting length form data if you want to. Sounds like there is some crucial bit of information you have not told us. Cheers, Tom P

Going Back

What, if any, resources are available in Zope (2.6) for me to use to construct "back" buttons/links. Is the page I came from stored anywhere, or can I access it? Is there such a beast as a "back" input type (similar to "submit" or "reset")? If not, how can I set up a "back" button/link? Thanks for your help, --greg

A proble with the external editor.

Hi all. First Thanks for Zope, it's and incredible piece of software. I'm a newbie on Zope but I'm very impressed about its posibilities. At this moment I have a problem trying to use the External Editor. I'm using Zope (specifically Plone) to put online TeXmacs documents. The idea is to define TeXmacs as the external editor for *.tm files. The thing goes fine the first tieme but after that the *.tm files (wich are plain text documents with tags "ala" TeX or HTML). The problem is the second time that the documento edited is opened again. Now the file is not rendered by TeXmacs as nativa *.tm files but instead is show as a *.tm.txt plain text file. How can I evite this? Please answer me with copy to my e-mail, because I have not suscribe this e-mail address to the zope mailing list. Thanks a lot, Offray

Zope, Zope 3 and Plone in Europython ( June 25-27, 2003 )

We are finally almost ready with the program for Zope-track in Europython and we can easily say that Europython 2003 will be amazing 3 days of Zope for sure! If we would have any more cool talks, it would be illegal. If you are interested about Zope 3, you will be glad to come, since Guido van Rossum is doing a state of Zope 3 talk on behalf of Jim Fulton. Other presentations will include presentations about through the web editing, functional tests and security certification for Zope 3. Ploners will be pleased to see Alexander Limi perform his State of Plone talk - and be amazed to see what new Benjamin Saller has to show for us with ArcheTypes. And soon to be Plone-programmers will enjoy Maik Röder's UML-models about Plone. At the same time we have also a whole bunch of other great CMS-systems to be shown: Nuxeo's CPS, Iuveno's Kontentor, Ikaaro, Infrae's Silva and Struktur's Icoya CMS. During the conference we also plan to have a CMS Roundtable discussions, on which we will discuss about all these different projects and see what there is in the future for all of us.
