New "Unauthorized" error since moving to 2.7.4, related to Session management

Hi List, To maintain Sessions between a secure and insecure environment, I have been using the following bit of code with urls containing the contents of "SESSION.token": if request.form.has_key("_ZopeId"): browser_man = session.getBrowserIdManager() browser_man.setBrowserIdCookieByForce(request.form['_ZopeId']) This worked in 2.7.3, but I just installed 2.7.4b1 (with Python2.4). Now I'm getting this error. Everything was exported from 2.7.3, then imported to 2.7.4b1. Any suggestions? Alec

getOwner FieldIndex

Hi again I'm try to make searches for owner For that I create a FieldIndex with Indexed attributes getOwner I reindex the catalog and it found 17 objects for Owner But if I make a search for Owner ZCatalog returns an empty list Can you help me, please? Thanks!!!

Options to rebuild python as a shared lib

Constructing 'Friendly' URLs in products

Hi, I'm fairly new to Zope, so if it's a obvious answer don't kill me ;) I've been considering setting up a blog in Zope. I used to use Wordpress in PHP before I decided to give Zope a try, and I'm actually liking it so far. Anyway, I've looked at coreblog, but it gives URLs like /blog/12 and /blog/1234, I'm really looking for things like /blog/2004/11/04/wow-zope-is-cool, like Wordpress manages with the aid of mod_rewrite. Now, I guess I could do somthing like /blogposts?year=2004&month=11&day=04&title=wow-zope-is-cool through mod_rewrite, but I was wondering if there was a more zope-centric solution? About the best I could come up with was chaining a series of persistant classes which subclass Item.Folder (iirc that's the one), sort of like this: Blog->BlogYear(id=2004)->BlogMonth(id=11)->BlogDay(id=04)->BlogPost(id=wow-zope-is-cool), just a containment hierarchy. Is this good or bad thinking? I was also thinking of a single class that used something like __getattr__ to process a function or something, but I haven't though of how that would work. Probably like this myPosts = {'2004':{'11':{'04':{'wow-zope-is-cool':getBlogPost}}}}, but I'm not sure if that would even work. Comments? Can Zope Do....?

Hi everyone. This is my first post and I'm deeply curious about Zope. We're planning on some major product overhauls in our company and I was wondering if Zope (at some level - even programmatically in python if necessary) can do the following... 1) Authenticate against a SAML service or other XML based authentication scheme. How about a kerberos service? 2) If I have a table of, say, 100,000 records in PostgreSQL, can I configure Zope somehow to list a particular set of columns from that table in a list, and also provide edit/add pages to modify and insert records against the table? How hard/easy is it to do something like this? Are there any frameworks or classes to aide with this kind of stuff? 3) I know Zope has workflow, but can it be configured to work with external workflow services like JBPM running on a Jboss server? 4) Would you say Zope is suitable for 'enterprise' development - i.e. building things like Human Resource apps or an inventory module? I love the python end of Zope and the GUI and interface but I'm curious about the functional 'behind the scenes' features. I'm looking to use Zope to develop a set of applications that have nice functionalities and a nice look and feel as well, and I'm wondering overall, how much Zope can be 'bent' into something that is not really content management, but more like database records management, with workflow and security, etc., via web services. I know this is a general question, but any input is greatly needed and appreciated. 5) How friendly, overall, is zope with XML and web services like SOAP? If this is just a function of Python, then that's good enough. 6) Finally, how is zope different / better than plone? They're both CMS systems that seem to have a large following and a great API. I'm very new to both but am leaning towards Zope because it 'feels' like it can do more - however true that may be, at least that's what I perceive. Set Default Language

Dear members, I am struggling to convert to ZPT and PlacelessTranslationService. In particular I cannot seem to be able to change the default language setting on my browser which I did quite simply with Localizer and MessageCatalog. I have used a python script to create and set the access rule in the root of my site as described in a previous post but to no avail. I am using zope 2.7. When I check my request variables I see that under 'other' the HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE is correctly set to 'fr', but I have an environ variable set to HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE 'en-gb, ja;q=0.20, fr;q=0.60, es;q=0.40, en;q=0.80'. Could this be the problem ? I am also seeing references to Localizer in my 'other' variables eg AcceptLanguage <Products.Localizer.Accept.AcceptLanguage instance at 0x43b09ccc>. ZopeXMLMethods installation woes

Hi, I'm having trouble getting ZopeXMLMethods to work. >From the various possible dependencies, I decided to use 4Suite and PyXML, which I untarred into my /usr/local directory and installed with the Python used by Zope: /usr/local/www/Zope/bin/python setup.py install I installed ZopeXMLMethods from the FreeBSD port, and now I have XSLTMethod and XML Method Cache Manager in the ZMI dropdown. However, when I attempt to add a XSLTMethod, I get "No supported XSLT processors available", which I take to mean that Zope isn't finding 4Suite etc. Must I add a line to zope.conf? Mine is totally vanilla (I think I just renamed the sample). I couldn't find any examples online of a customized zope.conf. Sounds like a PYTHONPATH variable not set correctly...
