Can see zope from local host, but not from anywhere else

This maybe a very basic question, so please be patient. I've just done a test installation of zope. It's from my host (http://dathorn.com) I've run ./install and ./start, and if I ssh to my host and run lynx, I can visit the site using every domain I can think of: http://localhost:<port>, http://<ip>:<port> http://<domainname>:port. However, if I try any of these urls from a browser on my local machine, they just fail (after a long wait). Is there a trick I am missing, or is zope not something I can run from this host? AttributeError __call__

Hi, I have a python scrypt index_html in the folder user/mail_password. I get the error mentioned in the subject when I call container.user.mail_password(email='marc(a)rijken.org'. But when I call http://localhost/user/mail_password?email=marc@rijken.org I won't get an error. To be this is very strange. Why does a python call to mail_password not traverse correctly to index_html and a http call works correctly? Best regards, Marc

zope fastcgi connection

I use zope with apache/fastcgi under debian, the trouble I have is that if no request is done to a zope instance's page for a long period (more than a day), I get an internal error with the apache log : (111)Connection refused: FastCGI: failed to connect to server "/var/www/myzope": connect() failed the only way I found to make it work again is to restart the zope instance. I tried it in socket and port mode for the same result, I also tried to play with appConnTimeout option but it failed. Dieter, Argh, I don't even see the problem in your example :( (I'm having a bad day!) I'll leave the iste running throught the week-end and we'll see what shows up. "high" refcounts is somewhat arbitrary I guess ... When you say high you mean high and stable or high and growing? Right now, the only suspect class as far as refcounts (Other than the HTTP requests) is the DateTime one. I have some content ones that look high, but then they're highly used (CMFImage for example). Apart from using aq_explicit in a few places, I do also use __of__ in one case ... To do things like: def getAbstract(self): try: pt = ZopePageTemplate( '', self.abstract, 'text/html').__of__(self) cookedbody = pt() return cookedbody except: return '' Could such use cause problems? I don't see why ... It's quite straightforward. That's about as fancy as anything I do gets I'm afraid, so I'm still having a hard time imagining anything I wrote messing with Wrappers ... I make it a point to avoid them! Oh wait a minute ... How about this? pt = ZopePageTemplate( '', self.aq_explicit.intropart1, 'text/html' ).__of__(self) Could THAT be bad? acl_users and sql

I would like to use the user login from acl_users as a key to search by in an SQL method. How do I call the variable of the particular user logged in? For example, if user 'TestUser' is logged, I want the method to ultimately look like: select * from dummytable where user='TestUser' How do I do this? What is the variable for the user in acl_users folder?
