Hi, Is there a way to pack a ZEO zobd trought the web ? When I go to Control Panel / Database / Main, the database I see is the ZeoClient empty database ... (but this client has a right custom_zodb.py file has sees the right database) ... Thanks, Raphael

zope management problems

Hi there, I'm new to Zope and Phyton. My problem is that when i try to access on the Plone Controller the Zope management interface after i entered the username password pair it doesn't accept it and after 3 tries it says that "You are not authorized to access this resource." I used the Phytonwin Editor interface to generate the inituser file entering the username and password but leaving anything else as default. The installation of Plone otherwise whent OK. Typing localhost:80 I get the Plone page, typing localhost:8080 i get the Zope Quick Start page, but i have this problem with the management stuff. I installed Plone an Windows XP and I use Internet Explorer version 6. The inituser file looks like this...: a:{SHA}hvfkN/qlp/zhXR3cuerq6jd2Z7g= Any help it's greatly apreciated! Give ownerschip instead of take ownership?

Hi, I've set up an intranet site. Several people get editing rights through a webinterface I created. One of the things they can do, is add a page in the right format with a special webform. The pages they add are owned by them, and I use "ownership" to place a "mail the editor button" on every page. So far, so good... But as webadmin I layed out the basic structure, and sometimes I help people set up their part of the side when they don't have the time to do it. And these pages are owned by me, not by the people that are going to edit the contents of the page. And I don't want people to contact me when they have remarks/questions about the contents of the page. These editors don't have manager rights in zope, and don't use the managementinterface of zope, so I can't have them "take ownership" of these pages, and I don't know their passwords, so I can't take their identity (don't want to do that either). Instead I would like to "give ownership" to them. Only the webadmin, with manager rights in the zope interface has to be able to do this. And it doesn't have to be permanent; if it's a security risk I can change things back to normal after I make the necessary adjustments. Does anyone has an idea whether it is possible to do this (and how - in what direction should I search)? (I'm using zope 2.5.1 with python 2.1.3 on solaris) Thanks

CookieCrumbler problem after initial authentication

Hi All, I'm trying to setup a CookieCrumbler in a folder below a folder wich has allready required authentication, the second folder has different access rights and therefore requires the user to login again. When the user is logged in allready by an initial CookieCrumbler or even by an initial Basic HTTP Authentication the CookieCrumbler is ignored and Zope gives me Basic HTTP Authentication and not the CookieCrumbler Form. My Setup: -- Folder A (requires authentication) |-- Folder B (requires different authentication with CookieCrumbler) When I go directly to Folder B without authenticating for Folder A the CookieCrumbler pops up. But first authenticating Folder A and then going to Folder B ignores the CookieCrumbler. Does anyone know a solution? Greetings Ralph

dreamweaver use for zope via WebDav-ZPT support?

I was trying to install zope extensions for dreamweaver to hopefully get the right object type associated with the files added in zope through Dreamweaver. ZPT files become DTML documents in ZOPE when using dreamweaver if you name them .htm Otherwise they are text files which cannot be edited with WYSIWYG. I found the following page which mentions "following directions" to install an extension for Zope/Dreamweaver but there are no directions in the zip file that I can see, nor is there any on the download page: http://www.zope.org/Members/careymatt/dreamweaver_dtml_objects How do you use Dreamweaver with Zope's WebDav and still retain file types (ZPT) or DTML tags? I have the extension manager installed for Dreamweaver but there is no extension file to install in the above download. Sean

Never mind that there are other excellent tracks running at the same time -- since we have such a fabulous show that if you are interested in Zope, you will be glued down to your seat! First of all we are now running for three full days and have each day packed with excellent talks. filesize limit

Hi, I'm running a remote zope server. Out of experience I've noticed you need 2 times the amount of your Data.fs in free space to pack the database. So if you have a 4.7 GB filesize, you need about 9 GB of free space to pack. The HD itself is 10 GB, so I'm out of luck I guess. So I'm stuck running maintenance remotely. To not endanger the running zope instance I was wondering if I just could copy the entire folder, rename it to zopebis, change te start script to use alternate portnumber(s) and do my thing this way?
