Need to programmatically change image content

Hello, I need to programmatically replace the 'content' (e.g. the image file data, if I grok correctly) of an Image object with new data via file upload from web form. I imagine I could just delete the existing object and then add the new one... SystemError: NULL object passed to Py_BuildValue

I have this weird error comming up at random intervals: SystemError: NULL object passed to Py_BuildValue It occurs in a Plone site but I don't think it's related to Plone. I have no access to some error log or to the Control Panel since it's showing me the Plone login form whenever I want to access to restricted information. confused on permissions and roles

I have a class that inherits from RoleManager (via Folder). It defined additional roles, including 'Administrator'. I would like the Administrator to be able to view management screens and create objects of certain types, but not be able to delete or rename objects of certain types. I tried using a ClassSecurityInfo instance as follows (I've removed the copy/delete objects part for simplicity and am just focusing on the view management screens part) class Myfolder(Folder): """ The base folder for the product """ meta_type="Myfolder" __ac_roles__=('Manager', 'Administrator', 'Researcher', 'Reviewer') security = ClassSecurityInfo() security.declareObjectProtected() security.declareProtected('View management screens', 'manage') # ..snip my methods ... security.setPermissionDefault('View management screens',('Manager', 'Administrator')) But a user with just an Administrator role could not view the myfolder/manage screen I also tried using __ac__permissions__ class Myfolder(Folder): """ The base folder for the product """ meta_type="Myfolder" __ac_roles__=('Manager', 'Administrator', 'Researcher', 'Reviewer') __ac_permissions__= ( ('View management screens', ('manage','manage_main'), ('Manager', 'Administrator'), ), ) with the same result. In both cases if I visit the Security tab of that folder (as a Manager) none of the default check boxes for the various roles and permissions have been altered; ie, the one for "View Management Screens" still has "Acquire Permissions Settings" checked. My specific question is, what am I doing wrong? My more general question is what is the interplay between using ClassSecurityInfo and __ac__permissions__? Catalog - exclusive-or?

Hi, I have a bunch of objects (CMF content but I don't think that's relevant to the question) which are conceptually closely related - they are different versions of the same content. I want to be able to ensure that a search returns at most one of the related objects. I can't think of any way to do this with stock ZCatalog, and I've been looking at Dieter's AdvancedQuery but can't quite sort it out there either. The semantics I want are like this: given a FieldIndex F, an object o, and a query parameter foo, o is a match if o's value for F is foo or o's value for F is "default" AND there are no relatives of o whose value for F is foo I think I could implement this with a bunch of post-processing of the query results, but that seems likely to be slowwww. any ideas? -- Paul Winkler http://www.slinkp.com

LocalFS 1.3 for Zope2.7.1 released

EasyLeading.org is happy to announce the release of LocalFS 1.3-andreas. LocalFS lets you deliver static files from your local file system. The new version uses a filestream_iterator implementation introduced with Zope2.7.1. The major enhancement is to allow LocalFS to serve static files from the filesystem without first needing to read all file data into memory or explicitly chunking data from static files out via RESPONSE.write (both of which are slower than just letting medusa itself handle the output via a native producer). If LocalFS can't import filestream_iterator it uses the old method to serve files.
