Apache 1.3.26 cache problem with ImageFile (misc_ and p_ images) ZOPE 2.7

I think I'm seeing a bug in the 304 handling of Apache or ImageFile (as used by misc_ and p_ images such as /p_/pl the plus in a box). I have Apache working as a proxy/cache in front on ZOPE. Everything is fine until I perform a forced refresh on one of these images. ZOPE replies to Apache with a 304 status but with a Content-length header of 0. From then on, Apache serves a zero length image. The code for FSImage and Image sets the Content-length header to the length of the data that would have been sent. Image has the comment: # Set header values since apache caching will return Content-Length # of 0 in response if size is not set here Does the code for ImageFile need to do similarly, or do I just need a later version of Apache? Then you can have different buttons call the same method. 2) Use <button> elements rather than <input> elements. Button elements display their text content as the label. Cheers, Tom P

Awarization

What is the meaning of the word "Awarization?" This word is often thrown in as a heading in Zope product Readme files. As in "CMF/Plone Awarization." BTreeFolder2 disadvantages?

Hello, I was just wondering if there were any disadvantages to choosing to use a BTreeFolder2 as the base class for a product rather than a standard Folder. The object is likely to contain at most a few hundred subobjects, and in many/most cases probably under 100, so the choice probably won't make a big difference. Are there any performace (or other) disadvantages to BTreeFolder2 with a smallish number of subobjects? Or is it always better than a regular Folder? Thanks in advance. Alec Mitchell

I believe bytecode conversion is carried out for a module only when it is accessed for the first time. Can someone confirm this? Does anyone know if there is a way to have a button with a label that differs from the value of the button. I am using several buttons in a form that have the same name since they call the same DTML method. I would like to give these buttons the same label without giving them the same value. If the values are all the same, there is no way for me to detect which button was clicked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

Broken Zope 2.7.1 file permissions

I installed 2.7.1 from source on Linux using the default settings (i.e., install to /opt/Zope-2.7) but it would not start when I changed the effective user (as I had to since I'm running it directly on port 80) since many of the files (e.g., in lib/python/App/dtml) are readable only by the owner which is root. This is a change from 2.7.0 where the same files are readable by group and world. In the meantime a workaround is to manually change the file permissions to be world/group readable or to install Zope under the same account as the effective user, but these file permissions should be fixed in the official release since Zope won't even start up given the common scenario of setting the effective user w/ the default install. Hi Stuart. We are running Zope 2.5.1 and 2.6. In 2.7 setting the variable is pretty obvious, now that I know to look for it. Can the same variable be set in pre2.7, in the z2.py config file? returning a dynamically created zip file

I have a class in a zope file that returns a zip file. The zip file is created dynamically. Currently, I save this zip file to a zope folder and return it's URL. I was wondering if there was a way to avoid saving it to the zope file system. Here is what I have def all_zipped(self, REQUEST=None, *args, **kwargs): """ Get all the documents from the doc template folder as a zip """ docFolder = self.get_docfolder() tmpfile = TemporaryFile() # stringio bombed zip = zipfile.ZipFile(tmpfile, 'w') #snip write the zip file zip.close() id = 'docs.zip' if id in docFolder.objectIds(): docFolder._delObject(id) tmpfile.seek(0) docFolder._setObject(id, File(id, id, tmpfile.read(), 'application/zip', precondition='')) fileo = docFolder._getOb(id) REQUEST.RESPONSE.redirect(fileo.absolute_url()) I tried tmpfile.seek(0) return File(id, id, tmpfile.read(), 'application/zip', precondition='') and this did launch the file save dialog in my browser, but the content type wasn't set correctly. What is the best way to do this? Also, I feel like I must be doing something wrong calling all these leading underscore methods of my folders (_delObject, _setObect, _getObject).
