Transience errors in 2.7.2?

I'm getting the following on a Zope 2.7.2 server: Module Products.Transience.Transience, line 765, in new_or_existing Module Products.Transience.Transience, line 476, in get Module Products.Transience.Transience, line 280, in _move_item Module Products.Transience.Transience, line 694, in _gc KeyError: 1109697840 I thought all these errors were fixed? LocalFS

Hello! I want to use LocalFS to display some mrtg and webalizer charts on a Zope site. As you know those charts are refreshed, and I want some "real time" display of the chart, so that I cant upload one image one time and display it the HTML way. I need to take the chart from the File System and display it. I also have some other files I want to parse on the filesystem, so I really need LocalFS. I'll answer that myself! Not why it all of a sudden couldn't access a .gif picture, but I solved it somehow. newbie - Zope Error

Hello all! I haven't got a clue? Why is it that some people get this error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: KeyError Error Value: header.gif while some don't? I get it from my office station. I don't get it from any of my LAN stations. One of my fellow colleagues get it, the other did get it too at first, then he cleared his cache and the problem were solved. (clearing cache didnn't help me or my other fellows) Tried different browswer also, with no luck!? And why did that start at all? The header.gif worked klast week without problem, and I haven't changed anything, but all of a sudden theres a definite halt? Any suggestions are helpful! I would definietly like to hear more babout this discussion, since I'm in these thoughts too. I've done some Java but prefer Python. I had a glance at the webware project but that one weren't as well documented so I tried out Zope for starters. I've just started to wonder were the limits are, what can I do and not do with Zope? Rookie help

Hello all! Just started with Zope, since I'm a snake man myself, and so far I find it very useful and interesting indeed. I've stepped through building the ZopeZoo and the tutorial about "the King". (well, almost ;) Anyway, one thign makes me wonder? Users and access rights! In the examples, there are a guestbook application that nobody can post to since they have to login? Changing the script role as instructed didn't do any help at all. So, I created a user folder in the GuestBook application and added a user. Anyway, nobody can login as this user so that didn't help either? Could anyone point me to the right place to find out how this things are supposed to work? I feel I'm missing something vital here.. Thank you Paul for your speed answer! From what you tell me it sounds like I have a problem with packing! And that could be effectively! I use this command on crontab: 40 4 * * 6 /usr/local/bin/curl -u clean:database http://localhost:8080/Control_Panel/Database/main/manage where "clean" is a user I created for this operation only, with "database" as password. It didn't pass, because of security settings => I set local roles with Control_Panel/Database/manage_setLocalRoles and gave "clean" the "manager" role => it worked OK manually, but with the cron stuff it didn't pass (I must have done something wrong!) But the thing is that a "pack" command was sent by cron, eventhough it didn't pass (I got some mail from the system telling me that I didn't have the rights to do that command) Could it be that, for some reason the "packing process" had been initiated, although it could not go through => locking the Data.fs file and writing to the Data.fs.tmp file ? That could explain the problem we have! By the way, which is the best way to initiate a packing automatically? I have seen the "zeopack" script in 2.7.4, but I guess it wouldn't work with zope without zeo, would it? slow python scripts

Our agency just switched from Plone 1 with Zope 2.6.1 to Plone 2.0.5 and whatever Zope comes bundled with their installer (2.7 I guess). An application that ran pretty well on the old Zope now runs dog slow on the new one. I narrowed it down to Python scripts that are being called repeatedly in a loop. The activity of the scripts isn't very slow, but just to make sure, I moved all the code out and had them simply return a string. Still, each call to the Python script is considerably slower than it was with the old Zope. >From my reading, there are some new security checks being done with each call to the script. Is this correct? In any case, I need some options for how I can speed this up. Is there some less-secure Python script product I can install for just this purpose? Hardware Platforms

Greetings All, Currently we have been testing Zope 2.7.4 on Solaris 9. We plan to link Zope to an MS SQL 2000 database as part of an existing process. The issues we have been having is that we can not seem to get the system to handle more then 50 concurrent connections. We have established this is more a problem with the database connector then a problem with Zope. I was wondering if anyone out there was using Solaris and MS SQL, and if so what drivers are you using?? I would also appreciate any other OS/database recommendations for anyone who is running a high traffic website/database backend. We need a system that at a minimum can handle 100 concurrent connections, and it doesnt seem like Zope on Solaris is the answer to this. We have tried to compile some db connector for access to MySQL and the Solaris server has not been very helpful. Thank you for any all recommendations! Jay
