SESSION updates don't always take

Hello all, We have run into intermittent problems where the updates to items in the SESSION object are not always saved. I've boiled the problem down to the following set of steps. 1. The SESION object stores a list of items, in the test case, it is a list with a single number. 2. We use a function to mutate that list directly by passing in a reference to the list, ie function(SESSION['listName']) 3. The function makes changes to the list directly. It seems that when a single user is using the system, this works consistently about 99% of the time. But, for some reason, when a second test case running on a different machine/browser starts up, almost always we get an immediate inconsistency between what should be in the session and what is actually there in the first test case. Now, it will happen running a solo version of the test case as well, just far more rarely. Note that running two test cases inside of tabs in firefox will immediately become inconsistent because they share the same session object within zope. But running two browsers (ie & firefox) or just using 2 different machines as the clients will trigger the problem. I also found that if I make any other unrelated change to the session object using SESSION.set() it appears to fix the problem. My hunch is that by manipulating the list directly without using session.set, we are causing a situation where sometimes the SESSION variable doesn't get marked as dirty and saved. Are there any other ideas out there why we would be seeing the behavior we are seeing? I get an inconsistency within 50 runs on at least one of the browsers. seems this worked.jus a matter of []. thanks yuan. but I'm totally at loss.no compilation errors, but when i test the districtname request parameter is missing. error display: Error Type KeyError Error Value 'districtname' which is quite obvious. plz tip me how to set the districtname requset var for the 1st time.sud be an ifelse thing plz tell i;m stuck. dtml-tree: wrong branchesexpanded/collapsed

Hello List, I've a problem with dtml-tree. When I click on the first "plus sign" the branches may be expanded, or nothing may be happen or one of the other branches may be expanded. The same behaviour occurs with the attempt to collapse or expand the other branches. Windows ODBC and service mode problem

Hi ! I want to use ODBC connection in my Zope site. But in native mode it is working (when I start this extension with this command: c:\Zope\bin\Python.exe ext.py). I found a problem in Windows when I want to use this, or mxODBC code WITH SERVICE MODE RUNNING ! If I use another "service login user", not localsystem, that is working. opening a ZPT from a script

Hi all: I have the following script: "return context.ss" and in the same folder have a ZPT named ss whose html code is: "hi" testing my script I obtain the following message: "<ZopePageTemplate at ss>" instead of the web page with the text "hi", any idea why? Apache as a proxy

Does anyone one know how to configure apache to proxy for zope? I followed the documentation and I can't get it to work. This is what I have: ProxyPass /folder1 http://localhost:8080/folder1 ProxyPassReverse /folder1 http://localhost:8080/folder1/' When I hit this page through apache, I can see my auth page. After I successfully authenticate to my application, zope kicks me back to the 8080 port instead of apache. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Matt, Fronting Zope with Apache is a FAQ. This article on the Plone web site will show you how to do it: http://plone.org/documentation/how-to/apache-ssl. "ProxyPass" is not a directive with which I'm familiar. Perhaps you refer to Apache 1.3. I recommend upgrading to at least Apache 2.0, installing mod_proxy and mod_rewrite, and configuring Apache as the above how-to suggests. I'd be happy to email my specific Apache configuration to you.
