Problems in file upload

Good morning, anyone ever had problems with the standard template file_edit_form "Add new element" - "File"? With some files (pdf) I obtain "Document contains no data" with Firefox, while Explorer gives me a blank page. I discovered it does NOT depends on file size (I uploaded without any problems a 5 MB file and I can't upload one of 1.6 MB). I never saw this problem on other sites I created with Plone, but only in this server. Nello.

zope 2.7: Unauthorized "in this context"

I recently upgraded my zope server to 2.7 and a product I wrote which makes heavy use of Z-Classes is now broken. This is a workflow site for a course, and there are Course, Section, Student, ProjectSubmission, etc as ZClasses. To view the page at all students undergo basic authentication. When students want to submit some homework (the have the "Add Project Submissions" Class Permission) they click on a link like the following for the ProjectSubmission add form http://myserver.com/Sections/S1/J%20Hunter/manage_addProduct/Course/Project… Where "J Hunter" is the Student, "S1" is the Section and "A Proj" is the ProjectSubmission. This was working fine until the upgrade, the link took them to the ProjectSubmission_addForm and they could add their submission. Interestingly, the same result occurs even if I enter a manager or site-root username/password in the authentication dialog box. I googled for the error message and found http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope-dev/2004-January/021501.html Based on my read of this, I tried adding the "Manager" proxy role to ProjectSubmission_addForm but this did not help. Any ideas? The add form and the verbose traceback are included below. As I say, all was working fine until a server upgrade so I suspect there is a recent zope feature that I am not handling properly. 3rd Party Search Engine

Hi, I'm in the process of integrating a 3rd party search engine with Zope and have a question about being able to make this work. I'd like to use the spidering capability of this search engine for it to build it's own index. What should the most ideal approach be? 1) Should I write an object in Zope that will interface between the search engine and the objects in Zope? For example, writing an object that uses a script that the search engine could call to Plone to return a list of objects of type 'documents' that were modified in a given range of time. 2) Should I write an object in Zope that will make calls to the Zcatalog to get back simliar results in 1)? I'm concerned about having to manage both the ZCatalog and the 3rd-party search engine's catalog. There may also be performance issues to consider.

Datetime bug in Zope-2.7.6?

Zope 2.7.6 Python 2.4.1 (and yes, I know I am jumping the gun a bit) The problem appears to be in the parse component -- Consider a test script: for y in range(1995,2005): for d in (1, 3, 13, 25,): for m in (1,4,5,6,): dd = '%d-%02d-%02d' % (y,m,d,) ee = '%d/%d/%d' % (m, d, y) D = DateTime(dd) E = DateTime(ee) print dd, D.strftime('%Y-%m-%d') print ee, E.strftime('%Y-%m-%d') return printed In all cases, each of the dates shoudl be the same. As can be seen, for dates sourced from a string of the form 1995-04-25 the resulatant date is off by one day 1995-04-24 The problem is not seen with Zope 2.6.4 running with Python 2.3.5. A quick diff shows tht there are many changes between 2.6 and 2.7. Form Variables

I've been working around this issue for literally years and finally have the time to seek a real solution. :) I can't find much information, so I'm assuming I'm just taking the wrong approach. Whenever a form is posted, the text fields always show up in the request.form, however any other type of form element that has not been given a value does not show up. None of the fields have the ignore_empty attribute. Besides using the missing= attribute, what other options are there? Most of my forms have optional fields and this is especially painful when trying to use ZSQL Methods or when creating multipage forms that refer to earlier form values. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Dave

Single worklist for documents with different states?

I've implemented a workflow (in Plone Workflow, derived from DCWorkflow), and would like my reviewers to see a "worklist" portal. However, since I have two reviewer roles that must independently review the document, I have two intervening states in my workflow (ie: "needAB" then either "needA" or "needB" and then "submitted"). I'd like the "A" reviewers to see documents in the "needA" and "needAB" states, while the reviewers see documents in "needB" and "needAB" states. Of course, I'm presuming these will be separate worklists. Is there some other way to implement these worklists? I can create a "portal_tab" which pulls a ZPT that generates the list of items on which the member could work (as Owner, Editor or one of the reviewer roles), but I was hoping to make the worklists work in the short term.
