ZEO, sockets and Session bug

Hi Someone may be able to help. Whenever I have zope running with a socket (as is the default for ZEO) my Sessions become unstable. This has happened on two different servers (2.7.3 standalone with HTTPS over socket and 2.7.3 ZEO/Client combo) The sessions are fine 4 out of 5 requests, but the information just disappears every now and then (refreshing the browser shows it still to be there sometimes, others it is just gone). My ZEO is set up to have sessions (tempstorage) on the ZEO and all works fine (MOST OF THE TIME :-s) Any ideas as it is most annoying!!! Ta

Modifying a Dictionaries in an Extenal Method

Zopistas: Does Zope allos an external method to modify a dictionary object that is passed to the external method via the REQUEST object. I am working with the object: items_list = [{'element1':'element1value', 'element2':'element2value','element3': element3value},{....},....] I am getting trouble with with this as any time I try to modify any dictionary from items_list, items_list[n] I do get an error similar to: line 120, in agregaItemDicts def agregaItemLista2(self,item,REQUEST): File "/usr/local/Zope-2.7.4/lib/python/ZPublisher/HTTPRequest.py", line 1502, in __getattr__ raise AttributeError, key AttributeError: __setitem__ It looks like the dictionary is behaving as if it not were a mutable object (as it is in Python), I have no trouble modifying the list 'items_list' itself. i have read a bit about dictionaries persistence and calling _p_changed=1 bu have not had any luck so far. I am using an external method, not a product. Any ideas would be appreciated.. Best regards.

MySQL timestamp issue

How to overlay one column of a page

I need some advice on how to format a page and am not sure how to explain what I want to do but hope someone will figure out what I want to do... Basically I have a home page consisting of a standard header and footer, and three columns - the left and right ones also being standard, with only the middle column having content specific to a given page. What I would like to do in the left column is have a set of links to other pages on the same website with the content of each of those links overlaying the middle column. There must be a fairly straightforward way of doing this using minimal codeing, but I can't figure it out. Can anyone give me a pointer to some sample code? And if it's in the Zope book, can you tell me where? -- John

Accesing python module

Hi: I installed the "PyXml" package, and appear in the "c:\Python24\Lib\site-packages" folder and i want to import a module of that library from an external method: "import xml.dom.ext" But i can't import from an external method any of the modules that are in the "Lib\site-packages" folder of my python instalation. Why can't import them? By default an external method have acces to modules that are in "Lib\site-packages" of a Python installation? I use Zope 2.7.6 for windows and Python2.4 ("c:\Python24\Lib\site-packages" !) The error that i get is: " Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Hello zope list, i have an zope server with 5 instances. Now on 1 instance there is an error on the acl_users folder.
