I am pleased to announce the release of TextIndexNG V 3.0.7. TextIndexNG V 3 is a complete new implementation based on Zope 3 technologies and can be used both in Zope 2.8 or 2.7 (with Five) or in Zope 3. What's new? - multi-field indexing and query support - multi-lingual support - configurable converters (through ZCML) - new indexing API (allowing you to hook your custom content types with TextIndexNG through Zope 3 adapters). Changes since V 3.0.6: - support for thesauruses - converters: massive improvements for OpenOffice documents (patch by Raphaël Poss) - converters: RTF support added (patch by Raphaël Poss) Requirements: - Zope 2.8 or Zope 2.7 (+ Five) or Zope 3 (Zope 3 has nothing like catalogs yet) TextIndexNG V3 will *not* run with bare Zope 2.7 installations without Five (and this will not be changed in the future). It's basically the same procedure as with former versions except you *need* to recompile the extension modules. JSON for Ajax applications

I don't know how many has seen this, but it's pretty cool. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format. http://www.crockford.com/JSON/index.html It is used for Ajax applications to transfer data instead of xml. It uses repr() versions of standard python objects like dicts, lists, string, numbers etc. to transfer data. I've got it working in many places. The error must be either a new zope bug or something else being wrong. Is your setup as simple as you've described in the email? What happens when you in that TAL do something like: <br tal:replace="python:str(options)" /> Do the other namespaces work in the page template? Hello, I've been asked to administer a Zope site, and I have a problem. On each page, a statement like <base href="http://mysite.dk/dir/" /> shows up. dir/ changes if I move to another directory. Yet nowhere in the code can I find such a statement. Is this a common thing for Zope to add or is there a function or property that usually sets this? Cheers Nik

schema won't update - persistant .pyc files??

I've been trying to edit basic text information in a product schema, the member.py of the Samplex tutorial but the text I enter simply won't update through to the form on the website. I've tried everything, including flushing the cache and refreshing the product, re-starting etc. Seems like Zope is holding the old information somewhere and won't let go of it. Does anyone know of any issues with .pyc files that won't replace etc and seem to be cached indefinitely? Totally infuriating. I've tried running in debug mode but I couldn't get any ZMI inferface that way. PrincipiaSearchSource and ExtFile

Dear members, On my installation of zope 2.7 I am trying to catalog content which is html text contained in Files and properties associated with ExtFiles. I am using TextIndexNG (v2.08). I can create the TextIndexNG index with the attributes eg Author, PrincipiaSearchSource, but when I then add an ExtFile I get the broken ExtFile icon returned (although the ExtFile is added successfully) and I am not able to catalog the ExtFile. Is anyone aware of an incompatability between TextIndexNG, PrincipiaSearchSource and extFile or give me any hints about why this might be happening ? Problems getting server running in debug mode

Has anyone had any problems running in debug mode? I took out the # in the zope.conf file next to - debug-mode on which would set it to be on. However my server wouldn't come back up so I had to turn it off. reading values from radio buttons (python script)

I have made a form with various quetions . The answers are given by radio buttons and check boxes. When the user submit the form it is send to my e-mail by zope mailhost. How can I get the radio and checkbox values ? I only know to get values from text boxes... my code for the form is <form action="mailAction.py" method="POST"> , I use ZPT for the form and python script to get the values and send the mail.

I see... And what python function would you use for conversion ? I made some tests and was surprised of the results... I switched ZMI to UTF-8 (management_page_charset) and edited some of my documents / properties and all went fine. The generated documents are still sent to browsers as iso-8859-1, and are not broken. So my question would be : which valid UTF-8 characters (for typical Western languages like English, French, Spanish, ...) would be invalid in iso-8859-1 ? Last thing, if ZMI is switched to UTF-8, then what is the difference between ustring/string, etc properties ? Thanks.
