zope spins when try to update workflow

Hi all, Not sure if this is the right list or not, please let me know if I should redirect my question. When I try to run "Update security settings" in the portal_workflow tool, my zope process gradually swallows up all the cpu, seems to still be running fine, but then after a couple of hours, swallows up all the memory, the load on the server exceeds 4 and makes it pretty well unresponsive. I have about 35,000 objects in the ZODB. Has anybody had any similar experience or know of any hints as to how I should debug this? I tried following the guidelines on this website: http://www.zope.org/Members/4am/debugspinningzope but couldn't see anything that was actually stuck. Zope 2.9.5, Python 2.4.4, Plone 2.5.1 Thanks for any advice, Edmund

External Method cPickle Import Module Error

Hi, I have upgraded from Zope 2.8.5 to 2.9.4. This currently works in the 2.8.5 instance but not in the 2.9.4. I have a Module Progress in /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/Progress containing 4 files: __init__.py __init__.pyc Progress.py Progress.pyc Both instances have calls to neuro.py which includes: from Progress import Progress The External Method in both instances looks good. I even updated the External Method by clicking the Save Changes button without error in the new 294 instance. Hi all! How can I control the way an attribute of a product is readed? __getattr__? __getattribute__? I try the __getattribute__ way but it modifies the property pages Example: I create an object instance of the product and like: Property1 = 'Some text' Property2 = 2006-10-18 I would like to call Property2 like object.Property2 and retrieve the data with the current locale For spanish locale I would like to retrieve 18-10-2006 But if I read the property pages of this object I would like to conserve the given data Is this possible? setting a title to all objects in a folder?

Hello, Absolute newbie to python here. I try to set the SAME title to ALL the files in a zope folder using a python script. LocalFS1.7rc1 with Zope 2.10.1

Im unable to install LocalFS 1.7rc1 into a Zope 2.10.1 instance. I place the folder in the Products directory but upon restart nothing shows up in Zope. Any ideas as to what may be causing the problem or any suggestions for an alternative product for accessing filesystem files in Zope? IM not getting any error message, it just doesnt show up in the list of installed products or the add menu. Tom
