Changing class of objects in the ZODB

Hi, Does anyone have a good approach to changing the class of an object already stored in the ZODB? A site is using classes defined and customised in a product on the filesystem, and I want to split the product into two to separate the unmodified vanilla product, and customisations. I found a script from shane when I googled which purported to do this, but I did not understand exactly what it did and so am a bit nervous of using it. Also, it appeared to do it all in one transaction, which would not be practical for this site (too many objects). I had originally been envisaging doing something in __getstate__ for these objects, so when they were retrieved, they were updated and marked as having been changed so they would be committed at the end of the transaction. But I don't really know exactly what! I don't think it will work to use module_aliases because there will still be a class that can be imported from the original location. Any help much appreciated, Miles

Assuming you're not changing attribute values, but *just* the class, I've had success with doing an XML export, a find/replace of the class name, and a re-import. The XML is fairly readable, you can just look for example for "Products.MyProduct.OldClass" and replace it with "Products.MyProduct.NewClass". Version status of Zope 3.2

Hi I tried to install Zope 3.2.0 final "Satable Version". It installed successfully with Python 2.4.3. But when I installed a third party tool plone 2.5.0. Now Zope 3.2.0 is showing its version as Zope 2.8.7 . Can any let me know why this had happened..and is if there any patch or addons available for this kind of issues..? Basic Template question : 'truthiness'

I thought I knew how this stuff worked, but this has gotten me banging my head against a wall. I'm trying to evaluate a condition expression, and I'm not getting what I expect when using path, and I get a different result when using python. The following expressions results=<span tal:content="results" /><br /> dosearch=<span tal:content="request/dosearch | string:NO SEARCH" /><br /> querytpe=<span tal:content="request/querytype | string:NO QUERYTYPE" /><br />  <div tal:condition="python:len(results) or request.get('dosearch',None) or request.get('querytype',None)">TRUE IN PYTHON</div> <-- This doesn't evaluate to true --> <div tal:condition="results | request/dosearch | request/querytype | nothing">THIS DOESN'T SHOW UP</div> ---- Produces: results=[] dosearch=NO SEARCH querytpe=mps TRUE IN PYTHON As you can see, the second expression doesn't evaluate to True. Can someone explain the subtleties I seem to be missing? Thanks, Mark

zwiki connection error

Hey all, Recently, ZWiki stopped working on my zope 2.9.2 intel mac os x 10.4 box (python 2.4.2). It was working fine until sometime yesterday, when I could no longer access my wiki using the address http://<my ip>:8080/mywiki This is strange because zope is running, I can get into the zmi, create objects from any other product, view public pages running on the zope server, but whenever I try to view my wiki, I get: Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at <my ip>:8080. Again, just to be clear, I can view any other zope-hosted page using the same ip and port. Any thoughts? -josh

prefix attribute in dtml-in

Using Zope 2.8, I have two nested <dtml-in> tags that each loop through the results of different SQL methods. I'm trying to use the prefix attribute to differentiate the two, but I can't get it to work.
