zcatalog strange behavior

Hi every one I've used zcatalog 2 years ago. Every thing was perfect My zclass objects where removed from zcatalog when they were delete etc ... Today i try to create another zclass on the same zope server (2.6) zclass with zobject,zcatalogaware inheritance and the zcatalogawareness don't work any more. And I don't know why !!!!!! So each time a property is modified i should force a refresh like that : my_zcatalog.update(refresh=1) this refresh all my indexes. But it's not normal On the other zclass product, each time an object is modified indexes are modified transparently How can i check,debug, test Zcatalog-Aware ability ? Thank's for all

Zope not sending images problem

Hi there, I've installed 2.7.8 on OS X Server and added some Zope product. The problem is that the web page works fine from localhost, but from remote hosts it fails to load some random images. HTML loads quickly and without any problems. What could be wrong? Sometimes some of the images load and sometimes not. Maybe I'm out of free memory or something? Thanks a lot, Aidas

Content Disposition - Download files

Hello, i want to send an image or a pdf to a browser not for viewing but for downloading. I've written this code: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-type', 'application/force-download')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Disposition', 'attachment; filename=filename.gif')"> now i have to send the file as a binary flow, but i don't know how to do. get non-acquired attributes of an instance

Import Modules

Hello, I manage my own servers developing web applications and I would like to remove the import restrictions of python modules in python scripts. Is it possible? How can I allow other modules to be imported? I have been using external modules but it is starting to become nonproductive since I have to create functions to simple problems like md5, re, etc, and just using the needed modules would be much simple. I use Zope as an application server and my clients do not have access to the ZMI, so I'm not concerned with protection against misuse by my clients. Thanks in advance, -- Luiz Fernando B. Ribeiro

No joy on 8080.

Hello all, I installed Zope on Fedora Core 5 using yum install zope, I opened port 8080 with lokkit, then I started it up using zopectl start. This is all on a headless server by ssh so I can't check http://localhost:8080 but http://server ip address:8080 on my browser doesn't work. I do have xampp apache running as well and can get the xampp welcome screen to appear but with xampp apache started or stopped http://server ip address:8080 doesn't do anything. I'm baffled as to what to do next. What should I try? Thanks! -- IV

[Ann] "AdvancedQuery 2.0" supports incremental ranking

"AdvancedQuery" is a search engine similar to Zope's "ZCatalog" that tries to remove many of "ZCatalog"s limitations and strives heavily for efficiency. "AdvancedQuery"s can be arbitrarily built from elementary index queries with "and", "or" and "not". This gives richer query expressiveness than "ZCatalog". "AdvancedQuery" supports incremental multi-level sorting. For highest efficiency, "AdvancedQuery" can (and probably should) be used with "ManagableIndex" and "IncrementalSearch2". New in version 2.0: support for incremental ranking. A rank determination rule can be specified by a sequence of weighted queries. The rank of a document is then either the sum or the maximum of the weights for queries that match the document. This kind of ranking is a sort specification and can be combined with other sort specifications in the usual way (leading to multi-level sorting). Ranking is performed incrementally. This way, ranking can be quite efficient when you only look at the first (few hundred) hits -- despite the fact that ranking is very expensive in general.
