Howdy-- I just ran into this same problem. After much poking around, it turned out that the source of the problem was that the zlib module for Python had not been compiled because I didn't have the zlib development stuff (in zlib-devel on RH and similar, not sure about Suse) installed. Installing zlib-devel, then recompiling Python from source solved the problem. VerboseSecurity not working

How can i improve performance of website under heavy load in Zope2.6.1

Hi, I am using Zope 2.6.1 I wonder why Zope is default set for handling 4 threads and 7 database connections. I tried inreasing threads to 20 and database connections to 30 by updating z2.py and DB.py, presuming that this will help to improve performance under heavy load. Can anyone suggest what impact will be there if i do this , in Zope 2.6.1 OR Can anyone suggest any other option to improve performance under heavy load in Zope 2.6.1 Any help will be appreciated. Can't nest dtml-in using prefix ...

This won't work: <dtml-in qry_user_roles prefix="outer"> <dtml-in qry_roles> <dtml-if expr="outer_role==role"> Roles are matching </dtml-if> </dtml-in> </dtml-in> I get an error that says key error - outer_role doesn't exist. It doesn't matter if I prefix the inner dtml-in as well. (I've read it isn't necessary though) Why won't the prefix work for me?

FTP and Firewall

Hi, I'm using Zope 2.8.6 with Python 2.3.5 and have found that when I FTP into zope, I am unable to list the contents of the directory I am in. It seems that logging in is no problem. Could this be a problem with my firewall? Has anyone seen this before? We are using port 8021 rather than the usual port 21. Could this be the issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Dan

Hello, I've been searching for a solution on how to integrate my actual database of users (in MySQL) with the Zope authentications machinery. I found some old instructions (2001) using LoginManager and zPatterns but I would like to hear from you about the alternatives. Currently I'm using my own authentication method but with this I'm loosing a lot of Zope features. Zope 2.9 MySQl 4.1 Using reverse proxy with Pound Any suggestions?
