Combining TAL and JavaScript

Hello all, Is it possible to process TAL with JavaScript? I have a custom Plone content type which is used for external links. The link tags get presented from a page template like this: tal:attributes="href here/remote_url" Is it possible to process this remote_url somehow with a JavaScript rewrite? Reason: We have another non-Zope system which uses GET variables for some settings, and I need to rewrite some variables on links that go to that system. Example: I have links like http://foo/index?action=list&... and I need to rewrite them to http://foo/index?action=start&... Any other routes beside JavaScript are welcome as well, it's just the first thing I thought of. The reason I can't just ask the webmasters/authors to change the variable while making the links is that I actually need to present both unchanged and rewritten versions with the view template. PS. Finding and Mass-renaming objects

Hello, We need to find some objects in Zope and rename them to their lower-case equivalents. Is there a way to do this either via the ZMI or programmatically ? Regards, Danny

Please keep your posts on the list... We can help you with specific questions/issues, but a general "i don't know how to work with them" doesn't give us much to work with. My suggestion would be to define what you want to do; look at the features you need to implement; look at the various technologies that are available to provide those features; for each feature/technology create a small test application to get it working; after you have solved your 'technology' issues you can then look into building the final 'end-user' application. If you encounter specific problems, then ask the list. Newbie: Missing a Variable (TAL/METAL Question)

Hi; I have the following block of code: <table tal:define="objects here/objectValues; sort_on python:(('title', 'nocase', 'asc'), ('bobobase_modification_time', 'cmp', 'desc')); sorted_objects python:sequence.sort(objects, sort_on); start python:getattr(request, 'start', 0); batch python:modules['ZTUtils'].Batch(sorted_objects, size=10, start=start); previous python:batch.previous; next python:batch.next"> <tr tal:repeat="item batch"> <td tal:content="item/title">title</td> <td tal:content="item/bobobase_modification_time"> modification date</td> <td tal:content="here/author">author</td> <td tal:content="here/content">content</td> </tr> </table> that works fine. But I'd like to call the following in that table: <td><tal:content metal:use-macro="here/XXX/macros/author"></tal:content></td> where "XXX" is the "item" that changes each time a new item from the batch is called. In other words, there is a folder with a "batch" of files, and each file is an "item". So, since the files' titles are simply sequential numbers, it would look something like this: <td><tal:content metal:use-macro="here/1/macros/author"></tal:content></td> <td><tal:content metal:use-macro="here/2/macros/author"></tal:content></td> <td><tal:content metal:use-macro="here/3/macros/author"></tal:content></td> ...
