Hi, I have a question. I really don't know how to solve this problem. I have <ul> <li tal:define="links python:{ 'Catalog/index.html':'Catalog', 'Users/index.html':'Users', 'Orders/index.html':'Orders'}" tal:repeat="item links/items"> <a href="" tal:attributes= "href string:${container/absolute_url}/${python:item[0]}" tal:content="python:item[1]">link name</a> </li> </ul> this is _of course_ not working because of ${python:item[0]}. It's illegal. But with this expression I want to show what I want to do: I want to add a python expression to a string. How can I do this??? Change the encoding of a single ZPT page

Hello all, Is it possible to change the encoding of a page without having to change the default-zpublisher-encoding option in zope.conf? My default encoding is iso8859-1 but we have to generate some XML files to a flash app, but flash only accept utf-8. I tried to encode the individual dynamic strings (obtained from database) in the XML with no success, since zpublisher is configured to iso8859-1 I think the xml is reencoded before it is sent. The XML file is declared with utf-8 encoding. All strings containing international characters are encoded to utf with python:reg.Field.decode('iso8859-1') in the xml file. Flash loads the xml but all international characters disappears. I'm using Zope 2.9, MySQL 4.0 with ISO8859-1 encoding. Thanks in advance, -- Luiz Fernando B. Ribeiro

Configuration for VerboseSecurity

Hi I need some clarification on switching on VerboseSecurity and am following the instructions on this page http://hathawaymix.org/Software/VerboseSecurity This states this " To enable verbose security in Zope 2.8.1+, just set the following options in zope.conf: security-policy-implementation python verbose-security on " However on Zope 2.8.7, adding these two lines produces a start up error in Zope. The flag 'verbose-security' doesn't exist in zope.conf in the first place. Any ideas appreciated. -- michael

Acquisition question

Hi list, I'm a newby to zope. Sorry if the question is to dummy. Here my question: You can do acquisition on URL like http://localhost:8080/employee_by_id/emp_id/2/viewEmployee here the result of employee_by_id (param is emp_id=2) is used by viewEmployee. But I want to use it in a page template like <td tal:content= "structure mployee_by_id/emp_id/2/viewEmployee"> </td> Unfortunatly this will not work like the above example. including folder in all requests

I am in the process of designing a zope product, and i want to inlcude the same kind of 'functionality' that Plone offers with its skins. I have a folderish object where i have a number of subfolders, scripts etc. Suppose I have a folder named 'custom' in my base folder, i then want all other object to be able to access the objects in this folder without using URL's to do this. Here's what I've tried so far: - use __before_publishing_traverse__ to modify the TraversalRequestNameStack. This works pretty wel, but there is a nasty side effect, the management pages also get effected by this, and thus it is not usable. - user __bobobase_traverse__ to see if an object exists, and if not check the 'custom' folder and then rerutnr the object from there. This works only in the root folder of my site, if i go to a subfolder i get 'not found' for every call i make to a object existing in the custom folder. I've been looking at the plone source code to see how they've done this, but I can't seem to figure out where this 'magic' is happening. Can someone point me in the right direction? I've been trying different options for a few days now and I think I'm possibly looking in the wrong directions.

Reportlab issue

Hi Zope List, I have an Zope application that uses ReportLab to generate acrobat viewable reports. (I already posted this to reportlab list - so far no solutions). Heres the problem: I display an acrobat report (using Firefox or IE 6) and say scroll down to page 10. I then use the <browser> back button to re-enter my Zope application. Now, even if I click various unrelated pages in the application (clearing the request,etc) and then return to the Report (which is always freshly generated) it will try to re-display at page 10 - instead of top of page. This occurs even if the data being reported has changed, and this occurs even if a different report is generated! Note: that I use import tempfile and tmpFile2 = tempfile.mktemp() to keep pdfPath's unique ... I've tried combinations of "Content-Disposition" params like changing filename=, etc. Nothing is changing this behavior. I've tried (a reportlab mailing list suggestion) varying to <forms action= like <form name="printform" method="post" action="extensions/pyBudgetReports" tal:attributes="action python: 'extensions/pyBudgetReports/?random=' + context.python.pyTime()"> No help either. Anyone seen this? David H I'm using ReportLab 1.20, Zope 2.78 and an external python script + ReportLab to generate the PDFs. The Server is Linux Ubuntu 5.10.

As far as I know there is no plugin for serving ASP pages from zope. If you know anything of ASP, you could try to rewrite the ASP page in the zope page templating language TAL. Digital signature and Plone/Zope

We are trying to implement digital signatures in zope application (Plone). Configuration is as follows: Python 2.3.5 / Zope 2.7.8 / Plone 2.1.3 On client side we are using CAPICOM ( so currently restricted to MS-IE, not able to get it working with mozilla based browser) to sign data. We are facing problem in verifying digitally signed data ( by CAPICOM ) on server side. We are using LINUX on server side. So far we have tried M2Crypto/SMIME, pyOpenSSL, SSLCrypto, pyCrypto etc. but no luck. Does any one have experience of implementing digital signature in zope/plone ? Does any one know other OpenSource tool which works with CAPICOM. Any kind of help/pointers/suggestions/comments are very much appreciated. Weird paths in the filesystem using Photo and ExtFile

Hi all, I am experimenting some problems with Photo/Photo Folder (or ExtFile) products in a fresh Zope instance. I have two different sites that share a very similar structure. Their virtual roots are sibling folders in the ZODB. Both have a Photo Folder called "images", that are storing in the filesystem via ExtFile. The problem is that when a photo with a non-yet generated display is being called through the virtual url, the corresponding image is created in the filesystem as if the topmost folder was the virtual root of the site (namely $INSTANCE_HOME/var/photos/). If I call this photo through the "real" (non virtual) url, this topmost folder matches the ZODB root. For example, if I call these "real" urls: - http://zopeserver.com:8080/sites/site1/images/image.jpg?display=whatever - http://zopeserver.com:8080/sites/site2/images/image.jpg?display=whatever in the filesystem I would have something like: - $INSTANCE_HOME/var/photos/sites/site1/images/image.jpg/image_whatever.jpg - $INSTANCE_HOME/var/photos/sites/site1/images/image.jpg/image_whatever.jpg but if I call the same via the virtual url: - http://www.virtualsite1.com/images/image.jpg?display=whatever - http://www.virtualsite2.com/images/image.jpg?display=whatever I only get: $INSTANCE_HOME/var/photos/images/image.jpg/image_whatever.jpg both paths point to the same file! I think you understand why this worries me. Any hint would be greatly appreciated.
