Trouble with PIL and Zope 2.8

Hello group, I am having problems with my PIL installation and I wonder if anyone has any ideas.. After what looked like a successful install of PIL 1.1.5 I am getting errors like "encoder jpeg not available" even though it looked like jpeg support compiled just fine in setup. Perhaps there is a special way to install PIL for use in Zope? Any advice is much appreciated. What I'm working with: Fedora Core 4 Python 2.3.5 Zope 2.8.6 PIL 1.1.5 Thanks! Dan

Problem with Batch search

Hi, I think I found a bug in the automatically generated Z Search Forms, as described in the manual (16-4: Creating a search form for a ZCatalog). This creates two files: SearchForm and SearchReport. SearchReport uses this method: batch python:modules['ZTUtils'].Batch(results, size=20, start=start); and then displays only 20 object rids per page. If it finds for instance 31 object, It gives a link to the "Next 11 results". However, this is where it is broken. Clicking on the link leads to have ALL objects in the catalog being displayed. It now offers "Previous 20 results / Next 20 results" and you can display all objects. Is it a problem in Batch? or a bug in the SearchReport Page Template? This release is intended for testing purposes only; we do not recommend deploying it to production servers. The final release of version 1.5.6 is expected on Sunday, February 26 2006. Some users can't view sent PDFs anymore

Since upgrading from Zope 2.8.something to 2.9.3, many of our customers can no longer view PDFs that we send them. If they're using Internet Explorer, they often get a blank page when trying to view them (and we haven't been able to nail down the exact combination of Windows + IE + Acrobat that causes the problem). ldap setup

Hi, I have managed to get my LDAPUserFolder configured, connected and all setup. I have no problems searching for users from within the ZMI. But the problem that i get is that when i start up my plone site, it prompts me for my zope username/password. I currently only have 1 user in zope and that is the admin account and the only other username/password that works in this prompt is the Manager DN one that i setup for my LDAPUserFolder. Can any one help me out?

The problem if you patch the zope code to show the ip addresses in the zope log, and your zope webserver is under a firewall, then you won't know if your firewall is working or not. Logging client IPs to Z2.log

Hi there, First up: Python 2.4.2 Zope 2.9.4 I'm a relative Zope newbie so please forgive my ignorance but I have not been able to find an answer anywhere else. AFAIK there are a couple of options for running Zope behind Apache - PCGI/FCGI or mod_proxy. It seems PCGI/FCGI is deprecated in later versions and mod_proxy is recommended. However, when running Zope behind mod_proxy all of the requests to Zope naturally come from the webserver (in this case running on the same machine) hence all entries in Z2.log are prefixed by a client address of 127.0.0.1. I have the following options turned on: trusted-proxy 127.0.0.1 (in zope/etc/zope.conf) ProxyPass / http://127.0.0.1:8080/ ProxyPassReverse / http://127.0.0.1:8080/ ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyVia On (in the vhost config in apache) The trusted-proxy parameter seems to related to the X-Forwarded-For header which doesn't appear to be dealt with by Apache. It would seem that neither Apache nor Zope can communicate the client's IP by the methods I have used, as Z2.log still contains 127.0.0.1 for every request. So... is it at all possible to log the real client IPs in Z2.log using mod_proxy? If not what is going to happen when (and if) PCGI/FCGI support is removed? -- Regards, Oliver

To summarize, I'm newly using Pound as a reverse-proxy for Zope. I'm using VHM mapping to pass the requests to the appropriate folders in Zope. I have some clients who can't see their sites, but I and many others can. They get this message: "Zope \n Welcome to Web.vi" which is my site (web.vi). I can see the sites just fine.
