oracle-bindvariables in zsql-methods
by Sebastian Krollmann 08 Oct '03

Hi, does anybody know whether zsql-methods support oracle bind variables? If so how is the syntax in zsql-methods and if not, how to use them with scripts or external methods? -- Thanks for your replies, SK

people structuring

Dieter's Reference product is almost what I need. Is there any way for a reference to have it's own set of properties as well as the real object's properties? Script caching
by CHRISTOPHER TIGNOR 08 Oct '03

08 Oct '03

Hello, I need to cache the results from a parameterized python script that makes a parameterized database call for a long period of time (about a day) as the data doesn't change much. I have associated the script w/ a ram_cache manager and cranked up the expiration time but don't to be getting the consistent behavior I was expecting. The documentation in general for the zope caching seems pretty impoverished. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks, C>T>

_allowed_meta_types
by Richard Jennings 08 Oct '03

08 Oct '03

Hi, This is a subject which has already appeared in the mailing list, but I could not see an outcome, eg: Jeff Kowalczyk jtk(a)adelphia.net Wed, 1 May 2002 01:09:20 -0400 et al. I have some meta_types which depend on some services which can be started/stopped. It would be elegant to stop the addition of instances when the services are not running by adding and removing the classes from the add list, as appropriate. Has anybody solved the problem of modifying the add-list programmatically? TIA Richard Jennings

Serves me right for having the list on digest....
by Chris Muldrow 08 Oct '03

08 Oct '03

So I had my zope list on digest and didn't see Paul's note about the right ZEO to get until just now. I had gotten a newer copy from CVS, but not the right one, and the version from ZODB3-1-something works fine. Caching problem solved. Thanks, Paul.

ZEO clients aren't duplicated
by Christopher Muldrow 08 Oct '03

08 Oct '03

We just did an upgrade to Zope 2.6.2 and ZEO 2 (we were on 2.6.1 and ZEO 1 before). We ended up setting up clients on port 8080 this time, rather than running them on 80 as we did before, but we're using the same round robin Squid load balancing setup we were using previously (from Toby Dickenson's howto here: http://www.zope.org/Members/htrd/howto/squid) What we're noticing, though, is now it looks like changes we make through our rewritten URLs are occurring on one client and not necessarily happening immediately on the other clients. I'm guessing this is a caching issue or something that we didn't have to deal with with ZEO 2, but I'm not sure. I do see these error messages in the log: 2003-10-07T13:40:00 PROBLEM(100) ZCS:25346 Invalidate('\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\t', '') failed for _db: keys My custom_zodb.py is the basic: import ZEO.ClientStorageStorage=ZEO.ClientStorage.ClientStorage(('xxx.xxx.xxx.x xx',7700)) my startup line for a client looks like so: sudo -u zope /usr/bin/python2 $cwd/z2.py ZOPE_CLIENT=8106 -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -f 8021 -w 8080 -u zope --icp=8081 Any ideas? I've read the docs with ZEO about ClientCache, but I'm not sure I'm grasping the concept entirely. ~

RE: [Zope] Zope and PHP
by Jim Kutter 08 Oct '03

08 Oct '03

Easiest thing to do is have a re-write rule for Apache to redirect the Zope stuff, and let the PHP stuff "pass thru". There are some PHP products for Zope, but I haven't tried them as it appears they all require PHP setup in Apache anyway. The pass thru method works fine for us. Just make sure the PHP pass thru rule is above the Zope rules. -jim -----Original Message----- From: Katie Legere [mailto:klegere@kfpl.ca] Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 10:47 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Zope and PHP I have pre-existing pages in php that I'd like to integrate into the new Zope site we're working on, can I do this using the Zope server or do I need to be using Apache? How does the Catalog get modified dates?
by Jim Barbara 08 Oct '03

08 Oct '03

Hi, I have noticed that the dates for cataloged folderish types are not accurate. Specifically, the CMFPhotoAlbum dates that show up in the Catalog are wrong. I need for the 'modified' date or the 'ModificationDate' to be accurate. The weird part is that viewing the information in the ZMI shows the Last Modified date accurately. Please help. This has been driving me and my users crazy because my users publish and change photos and albums and the sorted list is all wrong. I will deeply appreciate any helpful input any of you have to offer. I use: Redhat v9 Zope 2.6.1 Plone 1.0.4 CMF 1.3 --Jim Barbara __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo!
