Here's what I think you are asking- First, I'll quote faassen from the formulator page http://www.zope.org/Members/faassen/Formulator "Don't ever use field_<fieldname>; anything prefixed with field_ in REQUEST is a Formulator implementation detail. Instead, don't forget to validate the form" From what I've been able to deduce about formulator... Your ZPT or DTML renders the form using formulator, the user's responses are put into temporary variables named field_fieldname. You then use formulator's VALIDATE functions, they process the field_fieldname variables and pass the values that are valid into appropriately named fieldnames (without the field_ prefix). I assume this is what you are unclear about. Hi.. It is my assumption that when we use .render() on the formulator field, it names the field from formulator as field_fieldname, in the actual HTML. exUserFolder + MySQL + Python syntax problem

I am having trouble accessing the API functions in exUserFolder. I am using exUserFolder because I need to merge user data and properties with a MySQL database table. I have taken the approach of making one "account" table that has many properties of a user (first_name, last_name, title, office_telephone....). I did this because some of this data will be maintained by an application outside of ZOPE and the single record approach works best for that configuration. What I want to do is, at login time, load various fields from that "account" table into temporary properties that I can access throughout the site. To do this, I built a LoadProperties Python script that looks like this: ================================================= MyUsername = context.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER context.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER.flushTempProperties for user in container.ListUsers(username=MyUsername): context.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER.setTempProperty('account_id' , user.account_id ) context.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER.setTempProperty('username' , user.username ) context.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER.setTempProperty('user_type' , user.user_type ) return =================================================== and it calls a ZSQL Method called "ListUsers" to retrieve the current user. I've tested that and it works. What I can't seem to get working is the ".flushTempProperties" and ".setTempProperty" calls. I call ".flushTempProperties" because I want to clear all temporary properties before I load new values from the "account" table. The syntax <dtml-var "AUTHENTICATED_USER.getProperty('full_name', '')> worked in a DTML document to retrieve a properties which I placed into the "account" table where user info is stored. Can someone suggest the correct syntax to access the ".flushTempProperties" and ".setTempProperty" functions inside my Python Module? Running Zope 2.7 as daemon

I'm still a relative linux newbie, and while I was able to install and successfully run 2.7, I have very little clues about how to run it as a daemon. I don't even know if that's exactly the word I'm looking for. I don't want to have to start it manually. Right not I start it with: runzope -X port-base=1000 This works, but it takes over my SSH shell to keep it up. I did some searching, but most of the information I found refers to earlier versions, using z2.py. Thanks, Alec Munro

DB XML with Python & Zope

Has anyone attempted the use of Sleepycat's recent DBXML with Zope and/or Python? The documented APIs are in C++ and Java, as well as Tcl and C. I'd appreciate any input, perhaps some other listservs that may know more? Thanks!

Sounds like an installation problem. Check the error messages on the console at startup time and check the Products managenent in the Control Panel. -aj --On Montag, 28. Stupid Problem to append something to a file.. Arrgh!

Hello, I tried to append a string to a file : somefile=open(path, 'a') print >> somefile, "some string" The string is appended twice to some file. I get the same result with or without somefile.flush() or somefile.close(). When i try to open somefile in mode 'w+', i read the file with readlines and then i 'writelines' it to the file after having appended a string to it. What happens ? ho ho !! the list is entirely written a number of times equal to the number of items in the list.. I can't say that the problem may be in Zope but when i try it from a Python shell, it works well, as expected. Has everybody heard about something like that ?
