restoring data from a previous transaction
by Joachim Schmitz 03 May '03

03 May '03

Hi, due to a bug in my product I changed my data in a OOBTree-object. That bug was not discovered directly. In my undo log I can find the transactions before the bug was introduced. Now my question how can I restore/extract the OOBTree from an earlier transaction ? -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Joachim Schmitz -------------------------------------------------------------------- AixtraWare Ingenieurbüro für Internetanwendungen Telefon: +49-2464-8851, FAX: +49-2464-905163 --------------------------------------------------------------------

too much time!
by Alberto Santos 03 May '03

Zope is taking too much!I have a problem with Zope, The time for handling 5 requests is taking too much(table 1).I think that if requests are made at the same time, their answer should be relatively close to each other, but it is not. The content is dynamic, it depends on the user. I have verified on DB blocking, and there is not such a thing. The Microprocessor graph shows no more than 50% and there are a lot of free memory.Does anybody know if the solution is about Zope configuration or Python programing? Table1. SESSION data lost
by Iutin Vyacheslav 03 May '03

03 May '03

Hello. My session data lost when I try to set expiration time to 0 (in 'session_data' object placed in 'temp_folder'). Any new objects in session do not live longer than several minutes (or ever several seconds). It is for Zope-2.6.0 and 2.6.1. In Zope-2.5.1 everything ok and objects stored in session while browser works. Has anybody such problem? Does know anybody why this thing happens?

I am trying to write a python script to update a Zcatalog object which I can then run automatically via Xron. html_quote, quoting accents
by Jean-Francois.Doyon＠CCRS.NRCan.gc.ca 02 May '03

02 May '03

Hello, I have french content on my site, which means accents and other high-bit type characters. For the first time a user actually ran into the problem of the characters coming out wrong on his screen, so now I have to fix it :P I tried using html_quote without success, and also using the &dtml-Title; type syntax (Which apparently is auto-quoted) but in both cases my accents are still coming out in raw latin-1 instead of something like é ... Of course in the case of the metadata, I don't want to html encode the characters since technically it's not HTML just yet :) Help ? Crashing zope. Any hints?
by Charlie Reiman 02 May '03

02 May '03

One of my testing zopes is crashing with a SEGV fault. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to start isolating or fixing this? The requests before the failure are pretty innocuous and I have several zopes with similar setups that aren't exhibiting this behavior. This machine is also in our development environment and is not exposed to real world traffic and abuse. This zope has several products installed: DCOracle2 PortableHole TinyTablePlus exUserFolder LocalFS SetTag ZSyncer Of these, DCOracle2 and exUserFolder are hacked but I trust them as I've been using my hacked version for ages. LocalFS is the newest product on the server. I'm a bit stumped on where to start since python shouldn't be throwing segvs anyway. Zope 2.6.1, Python 2.1.3, Solaris on Intel. PATH_INFO available?
by martin f krafft 02 May '03

02 May '03

i'd like to realise the following: http://server.url/people/krafft should call the DTML or ZPT script at /people and pass it the value krafft. in a CGI, i could do this with PATH_INFO. in Zope, the only way I can imagine is place a custom standard_error_template into /people which then does the magic, but this is an ugly hack. http://server.url/people?user=krafft is not really acceptable... thanks. -- martin; (greetings from the heart of the sun.) \____ echo mailto: !#^."<*>"|tr "<*> mailto:" net@madduck keyserver problems? http://keyserver.kjsl.com/~jharris/keyserver.html get my key here: http://madduck.net/me/gpg/publickey the reason that every major university maintains a department of mathematicsis is that it's cheaper than institutionalizing all those people.

Using metal macros in a Python script
by Gilles Lenfant 02 May '03

02 May '03

Hi, I'm actually making a form which widgets list and types are built dynamically. The basic idea is to use ZPT macros from a script to build the content of the form. I found the way to get ZPT macros in Pyhton scripts... macro = some_template.macros['some_macro'] But I'm stuck hacking deeper into the metal logic. I need now a way to execute these macros, feed them with variables (here, options, foo, bar...) and fill the slots. Has any of you some hints or examples to achieve this? Many thanks in advance. --Gilles
