Greatly Simplifiied Script writing to session: Is there anything wrong with this?
by Redding, Matthew 14 Jan '03

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone could tell me why this python script (passed no parameters) creates session values for N_prod, N_shed, N_screen, N_pond, N_land, N_soil that are all the same. What am I doing wrong? Is this a vaguery of the script system, and should I use an external method instead? I am running this on a Redhat 7.3 system, updated to the latest patch. _______________________________________________________________ import math session=context.REQUEST.SESSION #Define loss values: N_shed_loss=10;N_screen_loss=8;N_sludge_loss=24;N_pond_loss=40;N_irrigat ion_loss=25;N_soil_loss=25 #Calculate Components at each step, and assign to the session. #_Manure Production session['N_prod']=round(session['num_spu']*0.081814, 1) #_exiting the shed session['N_shed']=round(session['N_prod']*(1-(N_shed_loss/100)),1) #_exiting the screens session['N_screen']=round(session['N_shed']*(1-(N_screen_loss/100)), 1) #_retained in sludge session['N_sludge']=round(session['N_screen']*(N_sludge_loss/100), 1) #_retained in the ponds session['N_pond']=round((session['N_screen']-session['N_sludge'])*(1-(N_ pond_loss/100)), 1) #_reaching the soil session['N_lands']=round(session['N_pond']*(1-(N_irrigation_loss/100)), 1) #_retained in the soil session['N_soil']=round(session['N_lands']*(1-(N_soil_loss/100)), 1) return ------------------------------------------------------- THanks, Matt Redding ********************************DISCLAIMER**************************** The information contained in the above e-mail message or messages (which includes any attachments) is confidential and may be legally privileged. It's working! Thanks very much Andreas. The trick was to setup the indices THEN add a new vocabulary. Managing/Authoring online tutorials
by Gordon Skelly 14 Jan '03

14 Jan '03

Hi Everyone, Does anybody know of any software there is available for managing the authoring/publishing of online tutorials. I've been looking at using PowerPoint for content creation for undergraduate medical teaching. I've also been looking into HTML powerpoints and Powerpro's Flash conversion tool that does a very could job at converting Powerpoints into small *.swf or *.exe files. However I've not been able to get the flash format files to support hyperlinks, which some my authors have used to generate interactivity between slides. Any help, recommendations or experiences shared by members of this list would be appreciated. Cheers Gordon Skelly IT Curriculum Facilitator, Faculty of Medical Sciences Computing, The University of Newcastle upon tyne. [gordon.skelly(a)ncl.ac.uk]

Good idea, but unfortunately this did not help either - even if I try to add the DocumentLibrary below or above the Catalog. Unfortunately, after creating a vocabulary and catalog containing the (pre 2.6) default indices and metadata fields, the problem still remains. I also ensured a lexicon was available for the ZCTextIndex fields. Has anyone managed to use DocumentLibrary on Zope 2.6? Erik. From: Andreas Jung Date: Tue Jan 14, 2003 9:52 am Subject: Re: [Zope] DocumentLibrary on Zope 2.6 I assume to need to create a Vocuablary (maybe plus Indexes first) since the ZCatalog no longer creates some indexes automatically when creating a new ZCatalog instance. -aj --On Dienstag, 14. DocumentLibrary on Zope 2.6
by Isokangas, Erik HTC/DE/FRA 14 Jan '03

14 Jan '03

Hi, I have been trying to add a DocumentLibrary (the Kaivo product) into a Zope site, but get the error message below. This is the first time I've tried using the product. It installed with no problems. However, I am using Zope 2.6.0 - so perhaps the problem has something to do with the improvements made to ZCatalog(??) Is there a way around this problem? I couldn't find any references to this problem in the maillist archives - so I presume others have managed to install and get this product working in Zope 2.6. Sorry, an error occured: * Page: http://....../manage_addProduct/DocumentLibrary/manage_addDocumentLibrary * Error type: AttributeError * Error value: lexicon Thanks for your suggestions. Regards, Erik Isokangas

More File Sharing
by Ian Firmin 14 Jan '03

Hi All, Is there any way I can get Zope to automatically update and show files in a folder (as in the file sharing example) without going through the upload procedure. I want to be able to upload with FTP and have the files shown. TIA Ian Firmin
