Setting Timezone on Zope2.13.20 in virtualenv

Hello! I just installed the latest zope version 2.13.20 using virtualenv. I would like to be able to set the timezone to Europe/Rome. So far, I try this in instance/etc/zope.conf: <environment> TZ "Europe/Rome" </environment> But I didn't have any success. Do you have any hint? Thanks for your help, Giampiero

When last I checked there is no blue bream release available. There is a nice ztfy release available. It has documentation for the installation. It has a nice ZMI. Thierry, when he is not on summer vacation, provides great support. It has quite a mature wiki. wiki.ztfy.org And so we thought it is a great starting point for zope 3/bluebream development. The problem is it is not installing. buildout calls z3c.recipe.testrunner which dies. That was on Tamer's computer. I had different problems with it. I guess we will dig in and debug it, but it goes against the grain. It would be so nice to just use it, without having to learn the details of how it is implemented. Actually it is now clear to me what to do. Read the docs on zc.buildout and distribute on pypi. Then read the docs in the source code. Then add them to the list of link to docs at zopache.com/Products and ZTFY.org/Products Once we understand the details of what those packages do, it should be much easier to figure out how to debug the problem. Hi peeople! I am trying to install zope3 /ztfy webapp, and I face quickly a problem by running "python bootstrap.py" after application setup. Here the problem: README.txt bootstrap.py buildout.cfg debug.ini deploy.ini etc extends-cache setup.py src var tamer@tux /storage/PyProjects/ztfyAPP $ python bootstrap.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "bootstrap.py", line 111, in <module> ws.find(pkg_resources.Requirement.parse(requirement)).location AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'location' what could it be?! I already spoke with somebody who had the same problem. He installed "zc.builout" globally, and it was solved for him but not me. My problem still exist even after installing through easy_install zc.buildout globally. Any ideas what it could be?! For any help I would kindly thank you Tamer

local and global site manager, adapter and utility questions

Hi people! I have worked out so far the ZCA tutorial, and there are certain things for me not clear. 1. What is the difference between a global and a localSiteManager from the zope.component package?! How do I have to understand that a "globalSiteManager" resists in memory, and a localSiteManager is persistent ?! Could somebody of you explain it to me?! 2. What is the difference between an adapter and a utility ?! I register an adapter as well the same way as I do with a utility, and I query those 2 as well. But what's the point there?! Pword reset tools

It looks like there are no pa55word reset products for straight Zope that are still maintained i.e. a feature to allow users to reset their own pa55words via email linking into aclusers. If that is correct does anybody have any pointers for implementing such a mechanism with a one time email reset tool? TIA (Re-posted to remove administrivia keywords!)

Is there anything important to consider when increasing the thread count above 7 as outlined here in 24.4.2/3: http://docs.zope.org/zope2/zope2book/MaintainingZope.html I have tried to 10 but encounter problems with number of open file descriptions on Centos 6. Cheers Rich

Problem with ZPsycopgDA and unicode-output

I got a problem regarding the Database Output via ZPsycopgDA Adaptor in Zope 2.9: 1. My PostgresDB is encoded in UTF-8 2. My Z Psycopg 2 DB Connector is set to UTF-8 However the output of my db over the connector is somehow wrong encoded: An Example: In my utf-8 db it says: "Bitte auswählen" The db connector, however returns the following: print repr(dbstring) 'Bitte ausw\xc3\xa4hlen' As you can see, it looks like correct unicode, but in fact the leading "u" is missing and a check with instance(dbstring, unicode) returns FALSE! So actually it seems to give me an ordinary string but no real unicode-string! My Question: Is there any way to setup ZPsycopg2 DB Connector to return real unicode-strings from my DB? Regards Marcel

Hi people! in my new bluebream application I tried to add the template engine jinja2 in "setup.py" before running buildout and I get this error?! Am I doing something wrong?!
