Hello All: I am uploading a DTMLDocument using a form and python script, but I'm stumped as to why the if/else clause in the script does not work. The script: import string request = container.REQUEST ident=request.ident myfile=request.myfile mytitle=request.mytitle if ident[3:6]=='do_': client=context.do_ mytitle2 = mytitle + '- AVC, Dean\'s Office' if ident[6:9]=='adm': mytitle3=mytitle2 + ', Administrative' elif ident[6:9]=='hr_': mytitle3=mytitle2 + '-, Human Resources' if ident: client.manage_delObjects([ident]) client.manage_addDTMLDocument(id=ident,file=myfile,title=mytitle3) else: client.manage_addDTMLDocument(id=ident,file=myfile,title=mytitle3) ------ if file 'ident' exists, no problem, it is deleted and DTMLDocument is added if file 'ident' does not exist I get the error: Error Type: BadRequest Error Value: (filename) does not exist if I eliminate the 'if' part and comment out 'else' a new DTMLDocument is added ok What am I missing here? Greetings Zope Community, I have a few issues I hope someone can help me resolve. Here are the vital statistics. If I left anything out please let me know. Pointers to helpful documents are much appreciated. Zope 2.4.1 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.0, linux2 Zope 2.5.0 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.2, linux2 ie vs mozilla 1. This is happening on the 2.4.1 site. Occasionally I run across one of my pages which I can edit using IE and not mozilla. When I go to the /manage interface in IE, I get the folders and the tabs across the top like a regular manage_workspace. When I go to the /manage interface using mozilla, the page displays as it would when I normally load it, as if I had clicked on the view tab. What do I need to be able to edit all my pages using mozilla/netscape. I have only seen this on my Zope 2.4.1 site. manage_workspace 2. This is happening on the 2.5.0 site. Currently, I have a broken page. When I enter the URL into a browser I get a Zope traceback. If I try to edit the page using the /manage administrative interface I get a display of the traceback and not the regular manage_workspace. This is a similar problem to #1, but this is happening only on pages with traceback. How do I get the regular interface back when I have a problem like this? traceback 3. This is happening on the 2.5.0 site. I have a directory structure which looked like this: http://example.com/foo http://example.com/foo/f1 http://example.com/foo/f2 http://example.com/foo/f3 For some reason links pointing off into f1 and f3 from foo's index_html document come out as tracebacks, when followed. When I manage the foo directory, only f2 is shown in the left frame. If I enter the url manually (/manage/example/foo/f1/manage_main, manage_workspace displays the missing page just fine. The dtml appears ok.) Any ideas why the links are broken and why the directories are missing, but there when explicitly requested? Hi Ciji... A few notes: 1. I've moved this message to the zope(a)zope.org list. What does it have to do with CMF afterall? Please use the correct list in future.If you don't know what the correct list is, then use zope(a)zope.org 2. All the lists are @zope.org. Hi, I had a similar problem yesterday and Chris Kratz gave me the following answer that works: Hi Larry, There is probably a cleaner way to do it, but we use dtml-if's to determine whether to insert a string or a null. Weird intermittent error with BTreeFolder

Hi, Every so often, if I go to a URL like: http://x.com/btreefolder/fileobject I get this weird error: Error Type: NotFound Error Value: The object at http://x.com/btreefolder has an empty or missing docstring. Objects must have a docstring to be published. python script parameters

hi, I'm having problems with passing a number of parameters to a python script called by XML-RPC. I want some of the parameters to be optional, and passed as empty strings. I have tried to do this by setting default values as empty quoted strings. But playing around even with setting non-empty default values in a list of params doesn't seem to work. e.g. if I set the parameter list of the method as: a, b="aardvark" and then test the script, if I leave b empty, the default aardvark is assumed. but if I switch the order round, and set the param list as: b="aardvark", a and do the same, the script breaks with the error 'the parameter b was ommited from request. could anyone tell me how I do this: i.e. have a parameter list with some values set with defaults, not just the last one?
