Checkboxes in formulator
by Michael Montagne 12 Jun '02

12 Jun '02

I'm trying to create a multi-select checkbox that offers each item in a folder. The idea is to select items to print. I thought I'd use formulator and put a dtml-in statement in the "items" box. That did not work. Is there a good way to do this? -- Michael Montagne montagne(a)boora.com http://www.boora.com

Standard logging?
by Jørgen Hermanrud Fjeld 12 Jun '02

12 Jun '02

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi. I wondered why Zope didn't: - -Came with a default rotating log schema that adheres to apache standard, with LOGDIR=$INSTANCE_HOME/logs LOGFILE=$LOGDIR/access_log - -And used rotating logs with weekly/daily rotations by default, by using rotating_file_logger This would, in my eyes, make it easier to generate statistics, without having to edit z2.py Are there any arguments for not doing this? And why isn't the logfile in CLF? As far as I can see, it incorporates all logs, that is i.e. FTP that isn't understood by i.e. webalizer. How are one planning to this in the future? - -- Sincerely Jørgen Hermanrud Fjeld jhf(a)hex.no -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj0HTpsACgkQ9jvTqPy5VsoQEgCeKD5UhdE5w7bGv2OeJv+HUNuK RooAniVpyQghoYlatZvEoXGSj7meXLDz =/0Fd -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Python script: problem with session
by p.t. 12 Jun '02

12 Jun '02

I did already post this with a different thread: probably the formulation was to complex. Or may be there is some very basic knowledge I'm missing. I'll try again. If I assign to variable in a Python script (say context.REQUEST['foo']) a value stored in SESSION (say context.SESSION['foo']), and then I change the retrieved value (the one in REQUEST, not the original one), also the variable in SESSION is changed. In this way I have lost my original information stored in SESSION! I've tryied to avoid this, but I can't manage to find how. Any suggestion? TIA, p.t.

URL relative to document, not folder. How to fix?
by James Hazard 12 Jun '02

12 Jun '02

Hi, I'm new. I loaded a bunch of html documents into a couple of folders under CMF and discover that the usual notation for a relative link <a href="doc2.html">doc2</a> looks for doc1.html/doc2.html ! Because of inheritance (?), it finds the document as long as the calling and called documents are in the same folder, but if I want a document in another folder <a href="../introduction.html">Up for Intro</a>, it doesn't work. It seems that the path is relative to the document and not the folder, so to speak. Have I got something misconfigured? Thanks, Jim

Hi, if I have the following two DTML statements: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('my_test','test_val')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('another_form_doc')"> Shouldn't the REQUEST header in the another_form_doc have the attribute 'my_test'?? Or am I missing something big-time here?? TIA AM

python script ques
by Aseem Mohanty 12 Jun '02

12 Jun '02

Hi all, If I want to know whether or not an object bound to the 'context' variable in Python Script has a specific child, how do I do it? For e.g. PScript: get_help(topic): if context.[has_child]('help'): if context.help.[has_child](topic): path = context.help.absolute_url() + '/topic" else: path = None return path Is there a "has_child" function? I tried to do some stuff with traversal but failed miserable (probably didnt understand it well enuff). Please keep the list in Cc, as other people may be interested in this. What's _Zopeid ? You didn't talk about it in your first mail. Anyway what I propose works on one of my sites, you probably have some specific setup or requirements you didn't mention. Refresh after adding ZPT programmacilly
by Nico de Boer 12 Jun '02

12 Jun '02

Hi all, I've got some problems with my News product. For the rendering of it, I let the site owner choose between DTML Methods and Zope Page Templates. In the Add Form he can check a checkbox 'Add DTML Methods' or a checkbox 'Add Page Templates' (or both). In the __init__ method of my product this works as follows: def __init__(self, id, title='', zpt_add='', dtml_add=''): """Initialization News Product""" self.id = id self.title = title if dtml_add == 'yes': ## checkbox 'Add DTML Methods' checked self.dtmladd('init') if zpt_add == 'yes': ## checkbox 'Add Page Template' checked self.zptadd('init') The methods look like this: def zptadd(self, refresh=None): """Check whether to add a Zope Page Template""" self.createZPT(self, 'News_template', '', self.init_News_template()) if refresh is None: return self.manage_main(self, self.REQUEST) def dtmladd(self, refresh=None): """Check whether to add DTML methods""" if not hasattr(self, 'News_render'): self.createDTMLMethod('News_render', '', self.init_News_render()) if not hasattr(self, 'Detail_inline'): self.createDTMLMethod('Detail_inline', '', self.init_Detail_inline()) if not hasattr(self, 'News_detail'): self.createDTMLMethod('News_detail', '', self.init_News_detail()) if not hasattr(self, 'News_chain'): self.createDTMLMethod('News_chain', '', self.init_News_chain()) if not hasattr(self, 'News_childmenu'): self.createDTMLMethod('News_childmenu', '', self.init_News_childmenu()) if not hasattr(self, 'News_peermenu'): self.createDTMLMethod('News_peermenu', '', self.init_News_peermenu()) if not hasattr(self, 'local_css'): self.createDTMLMethod('local_css', '', self.init_style_sheet()) if refresh is None: return self.manage_main(self, self.REQUEST) Which calls createZPT: security.declareProtected('Change News','_createZPT') def createZPT(self, parent, id, title, content): """Add a PageTemplate to the News product""" parent._setObject(id, ZopePageTemplate.ZopePageTemplate(id, text=content)) parent._getOb(id).pt_setTitle(title) and refreshes manage_main. This works all fine. But afterwards, when the site owner has (by accident) deleted the News_template, I want to give him the opportunity to add it again. I have tried it like this: meta_types = ( {'name': 'News DTML Methods', 'action': 'manage_addProduct/News/dtmladd'}, {'name': 'News Page Template', 'action': 'manage_addProduct/News/zptadd'}, ) And this works. Only after you add the 'News Page Template' and the manage_main is refreshed, the hyperlink on top of the manage_main is changed from (news is the current News object): /Test/news to: /Test/news/manage_addProduct/News and when I again add a 'News Page Template' it is changed to: /Test/news/manage_addProduct/News/manage_addProduct/News How can I keep the same hyperlink /Test/news as there is no News Template added? Greetz Nico
