All: I need something that will allow some sort of tasking list along with a message board. This will be used by many different groups so I'll have to create on for each. Does anybody know of anything that might fit my needs. Thanks, Todd

MetaFlow
by Andreas Heckel 18 Apr '02

18 Apr '02

Is anybody out there who tryed to follow the tutorial "Using MetaFlow" on zopemag.com ? After reading the paper I thought MetaFlow is what I'm looking for. It is installed on Zope 2.5.0b3 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.1, linux2) The code is quite clear. The documentation is exemplary. But it simply doesn't work :-( My Session: create a MetaFlow Object in ZMI (Workflow) -> add two state (public, private) -> try to delete one of them (public) -> ERROR: BadRequest:addImage does not exist -> add two Transition (publish, hide) -> try to set any property of a Transition -> ERROR: KeyError: destination -> try to create a MetaFlow File (MyFile) WorkflowDefinition:Workflow -> ERROR: WorkflowError: no initial state in workflow Workflow Yes ... i read the doc about the initial state but where can I set it on ZMI ? -> give up in frustration -> went home not to write a more flaming post ;-) Michel ... that's not the way promoting Zope as a professional tool. quick question
by JEdw411＠aol.com 18 Apr '02

18 Apr '02

Hello, if there is a Zope forum please point me to it and I will post this question there instead of bothering you with it. My question is - I downloaded the linux full version of Zope. It downloads with a .tar extension but when I called it from Telnet I received the following error message: tar -xf Zope-2.5.0-linux2-x86.tar This does not look like a tar file Skipping to next header 331 garbage bytes ignored at end of archive Error exit delayed from previous errors Is this a download problem as I did notice that downloading from Zope.org is very time-consuming whereas I have a cable connection and anywhere else it takes a matter of seconds. I've redownloaded it three times and even tried other packages but the same basic errors comes up each time. Can you shed some light on this or point me to your forum so that I may enlist the help of other users? Thank you, Jason Edwards

does anyone out there know of a way to keep up with a user's location in the website (like the breadcrumbs system, but without having to arrange the pages so that it can simply look to the parent directory)? thanks, john

Trouble forwarding Zope's WebDAV source port
by Jean Jordaan 18 Apr '02

18 Apr '02

Hi all When I open a local Zope instance's WebDAV source port using Cadaver, it works fine:: jean@blommie python $ cadaver dav:!> open blommie:13800 Looking up hostname... Connecting to server... connected. Connecting to server... connected. dav:/> ls Listing collection `/': (reconnecting...done) succeeded. Coll: Accounting 0 Apr 9 10:49 Coll: Catalog 0 Apr 10 07:49 [... etc ...] However, when I try to forward a remote instance's WebDAV source port via ssh, I get the following behaviour:: jean@blommie lib $ ssh -l jean -L 8888:remote.co.za:8800 remote.co.za jean(a)remote.co.za's password: Last login: Mon Apr 15 16:30:44 2002 from local.co.za [jean@diepdink jean]$ jean@blommie python $ cadaver dav:!> open localhost:8888 Looking up hostname... Connecting to server... connected. Connecting to server... connected. Connecting to server... connected. [... for ever ...] At the same time, I see this in the remote shell:: [jean@diepdink jean]$ channel 2: open failed: connect failed: Connection refused [... for ever ...] I tried this a while back too: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2002-January/107871.html but there were no responses, and I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong in the meantime either .. -- Jean Jordaan Upfront Systems http://www.upfrontsystems.co.za

Authentication Problem
by Dianne Van Dulken 18 Apr '02

18 Apr '02

Hi there, I am having a little trouble with a synced portal between dev and QA. On development, I can log in beautifully using the login_form. It goes to my logged_in page beautifully. On the new QA site, it gets as far as the logged_in section, but doesn't seem to recognise that it has been logged in. As soon as it moves through to the admin homepage, it redirects back to the login. Does anyone know what causes this? I've been searching through the archives, but can't find anything that matches both instances. I thought it might be a problem with the cookies, but they seem to be very similar On dev: __ac_name "tester1" ozepayzope.qa.ozemail.com.au/ 0 2934247040 29558135 1491665840 29484710 * On QA: __ac_name "tester2" 203.108.77.197/ 0 1714181632 29558133 3983437728 29484707 * Could anyone give me a hint as to what it might be? Thanks! Di

by Alcides Acunha 18 Apr '02

Dear Sirs. Right now we are using Zope on Win32 but we would like to move our applications on a SunOS 5.8 for Intel. Is there available any package for this platform, or we must use Zope-2.5.0-src.tgz ? Would you be so kind to give us some information about this matter ? Thank you in advance. Greetings, Alcides. P.S.: I'm sorry about my wrong english. --------------------------------- Alcides Acuña Centro Nacional de Computación Universidad Nacional de Asunción Asunción - Paraguay Tel/Fax: (595) (21) 585550, 585619 e-mail: aacuna(a)cnc.una.py ---------------------------------

I am using Zope-2.5.0 with Zserver. Starts fine runs fine. But it just quits!! The longest running time was 22 hrs. Running on RHlinux. Where should I look to resolve the problem. (Tired of being chained to my laptop!) Thanks J.Temple
