TIFF files

I'm having trouble using the photo product and importing .tif files. I'm using the PIL option, ImageMagick gives me a broken pipe error. .jpg works great but .tif gives me no image. It appears to work but there is no image when complete. I'm not sure I have access to the PIL on my hard drive (using windows, Zope2.3.3) How can I integrate PIL into Zope? If I don't get an error when I try to use PIL in photo, does that mean that it IS integrated already? I run zope as a service and I'm not sure how to tell how I called z2.py. -- Michael Montagne montagne(a)boora.com http://www.boora.com

RE: [Zope] Session Mgmt. with Session Id Manager
by Schmidt, Allen J. 17 Apr '02

Thanks for the info. When we got thinking about it, we determined that issue with the new Session stuff. The odd thing with SQLSession is that it would force two logins and sometimes several hard refreshes to keep the data from the session; or get it to display on the page. Logout by clearing the session still allowed one to go right back to the page and get the data back. I tried putting all the SQLSessioning parts in the standard_header. When any page loaded, it verifies they are logged in and sets a few REQUEST variables used by the rest of the page and does a database pull to get other data. If I logged in, it said, "OK, you are logged in..." Then when you clicked to go to the next page, the login link appeared meaning the session variable for the user was not found. Login again...and it would stick. Click a link to pull some database data based on that user id and you would have to login again. Back and forth. So, for now, I just switched to using Zope users and pulling the database stuff based on that and their role. Works well for now. One thing I liked (and have as a requirement for this project) is the ability of a new user to create an account. I have not done this programmatically with DTML but would like to. Anyone care to offer any pointers?? Thanks Allen -----Original Message----- From: Anthony Baxter [mailto:anthony@interlink.com.au] Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2002 12:17 AM To: Schmidt, Allen J. Note that if you use the standard session stuff with a RAM based storage, the storage won't be shared between ZEO clients. zope & vignette
by Sven Schupp 17 Apr '02

Hi, I have to work out, why to use Zope instead of Vignette StoryServer. of course there are the costs for Vignette. i don't know anything about vignette. So if anyone could give me some hints where the weak-points of vignette are it would satisfy my needs... Writing Unit test
by Robert Rottermann 17 Apr '02

17 Apr '02

I am starting to write unit tests.( better late than never) In one of the tests I need to create a new instance of a product that adds several subobjects (user_folder, properies, ..) to its container. in "normal" Zope I do that with : container.manage_addProduct['RedInfopool'].addUserFolderWithGroups() When I do the same in a test like so: def CreateTestFolder ( self, ret=0 ) : ob = Folder() id = 'test_folder' ob.id=str(id) ob.title=str('contains test data') id = self.root._setObject(ob.id, ob) ob = getattr(self.root, id) ob.manage_addProduct['RedInfopool'].addUserFolderWithGroups() self.failUnless(ob.getId() == id, 'could not create test folder') ob.mangae_add .... fails. It does not have a "context" obviously. How do I add such a context? Is there a sample somewhere? thank you Robert www.redcor.ch

Sending e-mail attachments through a python script
by complaw＠hal-pc.org 17 Apr '02

17 Apr '02

Below is a sample python script courtesy of runyaga... ______ try: mailhost=getattr(context, context.superValues('Mail Host')[0].id) except: raise AttributeError, "cant find a Mail Host object" mMsg = 'a testful email message \n that contains a few line breaks. \n ~runyaga' mTo = 'runyaga(a)abc.com' mFrom = 'runyaga(a)xyz.com' mSubj = 'mail subject' mailhost.send(mMsg, mTo, mFrom, mSubj) ______ Has anyone been able to modify the above script so that e-mail attachments could be sent? As far as I can tell, the mailhost.send call doesn't accept e-mail attachments. However, the DTML sendmail does accept attachments. The code that I currently use does not use DTML (it uses a python script). Must I use DTML if I want to send e-mail attachments? Thanks in advance, Ron

Please keep on the list for the benefit of the archives... Have you ever used it with Apache Virtual Hosts (which rely on the Host header)? ZServer works on its own. Apache works on its own. An Apache + ZServer setup works inside the firewall. This points to one thing: somewhere between outside the firewall and your server, some important information is being mangled. Have you sniffed the headers as I suggested? Post them to the list if you're not sure. > I looked into Virtualhostmonster. Apparently you have to use that with > Apache? It isn't something that you can just use with Zserver? You could use it with ZServer but normally it is used by Apache with rewrite rules. Look at the first link I sent about it for examples. However, your problem is not to do with this. ProxyPass should work just as well. seb

Invoking several DTML Methods
by William GARCIA 17 Apr '02

Newbie : question Hi, I have a problem with invoking a DTML method. Search(Directory) | | Catalog(ZCatalog) | | updateCatalog(DTML Method) DTML Method source of updateCatalog: <dtml-call "manage_catalogClear(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL1)"> <dtml-call "manage_catalogFoundItems(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL2,URL1, ['Image','File'])"> I would like to invoke updateCatalog from the Search directory from a form but when I use <dtml-call "catalogue.updateCatalog(None,_,'')"> to do this, the next error is generate by Zope: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'manage_catalogClear' is not defined If I use the next code in the Search directory always in the form, <dtml-call "catalogue.manage_catalogClear(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL1)"> <dtml-call "catalogue.manage_catalogFoundItems(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL2,URL1, ['Image','File'])"> Zope say that the global name 'manage_catalogView' is not defined If everyone can tell me how to define 'manage_catalogClear' and manage_catalogFoundItems in Search directory or how to update a Zcatalog from his parent folder or how to invoke method (which invoke herself methods)from a parent directory, I would be very pleasant.
