Can Role include an other Role?

I have three groups of users: A, B, C. C should have all permissions that A und B have. How can I do this? Example: +All members of A are allowed to delete files in "foo", B member are not allowed --> C member are allowed If A, B, C would be users it would be no problem. But they are groups I read the the security chapter of the zope book on: http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/Security.dtml But I couldn't find a solution to that. Platform: Zope 2.4.3 on W2K

Which works almost perfectly...: Further, I needed to be able to import : from Products.gvibDA.gvib.gvibExceptions import IntegrityError So I added the following code in gvibDA's __init__.py from Products.PythonScripts.Utility import allow_module, allow_class from AccessControl import ModuleSecurityInfo, ClassSecurityInfo from Globals import InitializeClass ModuleSecurityInfo('Products').declarePublic('gvibDA') ModuleSecurityInfo('Products.gvibDA').declarePublic('gvib') ModuleSecurityInfo('Products.gvibDA.gvib').declarePublic('gvibExceptions') ModuleSecurityInfo('Products.gvibDA.gvib.gvibExceptions').declarePublic('IntegrityError') from gvib.gvibExceptions import IntegrityError allow_class(IntegrityError) I get an 'Unauthorized: Formulator' error when accessing a script beginning with from Products.Formulator.Form import FormValidationError from Products.gvibDA.gvib.gvibExceptions import IntegrityError I suppose it has something to do with the creation of two instances of ModuleSecurityInfo('Products') but have no idea how to correct the problem. m_self of methods accessed via non trivial acquisition
by Stefan Bund 17 Jan '02

17 Jan '02

My question regards the details of how the contents of m_self of an acquired method is calculated by the acquisition machinery. To illustrate this, I will depict an acquisition tree using the following symbols: O -- an acquisition wrapper <upcase letter> -- an acquitsition wrapper named for further reference [<lowercase letter>] -- an object -- -- the aq_parent link | -- the aq_self link I will use the following acquisition tree for illustration (it resembles the tree I have in my application, I just reduced it to make my point) A--O--[a] | | | [b] | O--B--O--[c] | | | | | [d] | | | O--[e] | | | [f] | [g] In this representation, the acquisition order is from bottom to top. The bottom most object is /A.aq_base/. Acquisition along containment only produces horizontal lines of acquisition wrappers. let /m/ be a method of the objekt /f/. The expression of interest is x := A.m I would expect /x.m_self/ to be an acquisition wrapper C C := A.f where (as far as i understand the rules of acquisition) /C.aq_parent == A/ But instead displaying /x.m_self/ yields the acquisition tree rooted at /B/ !! I find this a bit disturbing. My question: 'Is it a *bug* or a *feature*?'. I hope, I made my point clear. I hope someone can shed light on this subject, Stefan.

Solution: Integer on portal_catalog.searchResults

The solution is: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('number',_.string.atoi(numberpumps))"> -----Messaggio originale----- Da: Meilicke, Scott [mailto:scott.meilicke@intp.com] Inviato: giovedì 17 gennaio 2002 1.15 A: 'TrashMan' Oggetto: RE: [Zope] Integer on portal_catalog.searchResults Try it without the quotes around _string.atoi... Help! Disabling caching for external method
by Satheesh Babu 17 Jan '02

17 Jan '02

Hello, I've a fairly complicated business logic that I implemented in Python as an external method. Essentially, it takes in a list of tuples (generated by a ZSQL), current URL1 and returns a filtered list of tuples. It works very well on the command line. (ie ZOPE_HOME/bin/python myfile.py...) However, whenever I try to call it from a DTML method, the results I get back are (I think) cached ones, regardless of the URL1 I'm passing to it. Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm on Zope 2.1.6 on NT4 - upgradation to 2.4.3 is scheduled for next month. Many thanks in advance - vsb "Saying Windows XP is the most stable Windows is like saying asparagus is the most articulate vegetable" - Dave Barry
