Re: [Zope] case sensative url?
by Andreas Jung 12 Jan '02

ok, to be detailed: the hostname part of the url (www.cnn.com) is case insensitive, however the the rest of the URL is usually case sensitive. This means a complete URL is case sensitive e.g. www.cnn.com/blabla is the same as www.CNN.com/blabla but not www.cnn.com/Blabla -aj ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Lilly" <mark.lilly(a)benova.com> To: "'Andreas Jung'" <andreas(a)andreas-jung.com> Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 18:57 Subject: RE: [Zope] case sensative url? > on my machine, > wwW.cNN.cOm will get to the same place as www.cnn.com. > why is Zope different > > -----Original Message----- > From: Andreas Jung [mailto:andreas@andreas-jung.com] > Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 3:59 PM > To: Mark Lilly; zope(a)zope.org > Subject: Re: [Zope] case sensative url? > > > URLs are *always* casesensitive - independant of Zope. > > - aj > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Mark Lilly" <mark.lilly(a)benova.com> > To: <zope(a)zope.org> > Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 18:50 > Subject: [Zope] case sensative url? > > > > Hi, > > Can it be true that URL's are case sensative?? > > > > I have just created a sample ZClass of type Project, and an instance named > > FHK. Can't run 2.4.3 on NT
by Echlin, Michael 11 Jan '02

11 Jan '02

Hi, When I install 2.4.3 on an NT4 server (SP6) I get a trace ending in AttributeError: 'OS' module has no attribute '_get_exports_list' When I install this on a second NT4 server (SP6) it works. This is a bare machine, NT, ZOPE, using the binary exe install. (The second machine is a 133 Pentium, the first one is a dual processor athalon 1800, I would like it to work on the faster machine :-) Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix. Mike.

[CALL] You can vote for a (good) Zope project in a contest.
by Didier Georgieff 11 Jan '02

11 Jan '02

Hello, We have submitted our Zope application extranet (popoto product and his use) for a french contest about (roughly) free software within french government. There is a real jury, **but** there is also a call for internet user (you, dear reader) to vote for their favorite project (may be us, dear reader). Obviously i don't call for a blind vote (i even don't think about it), but *if* after having looking carefully to all the project (no Zope is involved in the other projects) in the contest written ijn french, you think that our Zope project is the best one, so you can vote for us by 1 - going to : http://www.atica.pm.gouv.fr/evenements_ateliers/Electropheesadministrations… 2 - typing your email (not sold this is french government organizing ;-), so they can send you a confirmation mail 3 - clicking on the link in the mail message you'll receive. You can vote until january 31, and I'll let you know the result (aka if a IIS site win or if we succedded on putting Zope on the front stage with your help).

returning a dtml variable from a python expression
by Lester Cram 11 Jan '02

11 Jan '02

A simple question I have a variable that is returned from an sql query as <dtml-var id> I wish to include this in a python expression to create a photofolder or photoimage. When used as <dtml-call expr="manage_addProduct['Photo'].manage_addPhotoFolder(id='12345', title='')"> this works. but if used within <dtml-in createfolder size=50 start=query_start> <dtml-call expr="manage_addProduct['Photo'].manage_addPhotoFolder(id = '<dtml-var id>', title= '' )"> </dtml-in> I get Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: _setObject File C:\Program Files\WebSite\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_Util.py, line 230, in eval (Object: manage_addProduct['Photo'].manage_addPhotoFolder(id = '<dtml-var id>', title= '' )) (Info: manage_addProduct) File <string>, line 2, in f (Object: guarded_getitem) What is the correct way to do this? Thanks for any help

ParsedXML attribute Error
by Brad Clements 11 Jan '02

11 Jan '02

I'm using the CVS version of ParsedXML on Zope 2.5B3... The following used to work on ParsedXML Beta 1.1b1 I have recreated my ParsedXML object (called ProductCategories), however I still get a traceback executing this code: <dtml-in "ProductCategories.getElementsByTagName('Category')"> Gives AttributeError on __getattr__ in the ParsedXML.getElementsByTagName() method, line 251 def getElementsByTagName(self, tagName): return self.__getattr__("getElementsByTagName")(tagName) I must say, this is really weird looking Python. I think what's happening here is that this code wants to get ManagableDocument's implementation of getElementsByTagName So I changed it to this: def getElementsByTagName(self, tagName): return ManageableDocument.getElementsByTagName(self, tagName) And now it works! converting spaces in dtml-var to something else
by Mike Doanh Tran 11 Jan '02

11 Jan '02

Hi all, Does anyone know the syntax to convert a space in a string variable to something else? I've looked at the attribute "spacify", but that only convert underscores to spaces. What i want to do is to convert all spaces in a string to a "+" sign. Thanks for any suggestions. -- Mike

re:Single form, multiple classes
by sanket deshmukh 11 Jan '02

You can use Radio Buttons in your form. one each for CompanyInfo class,AccountInfo class,ContractInfo class,BillingInfo class and then direct the data to the specific class. cheers, Sanket. From: Michael <michael(a)exasource.com> Organization: Exasource To: zope(a)zope.org Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2002 15:03:04 -0700 Subject: [Zope] Single form, multiple classes I am trying to dig a little deeper into Zope's capabilities and have created sample multiple classes to handle company, account, contract and billing information, for example. Since you could have multiple accounts for one company and multiple contracts per account and so on. How can I use one entry form to handle parsing the data to multile DB files? Is this something that can done in DTML or will I have write a python script? The example I'm playing with is as follows: CompanyInfo class AccountInfo class ContractInfo class BillingInfo class -- Michael Lewis "The early bird may get the worm--- but the second mouse gets the cheese" --__--__-- _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

by Jens Grewen 11 Jan '02

11 Jan '02

Hi all, here is my propblem may someone knows a way to solve it. I am creating a website which is served by two zeo client. I am using exuserfolder for authentification (users are stored in a intebase database) This does not support authentication over the two zeo client but I want to login at zeo client1 and then change to zeo client2 whithout login again. (persistance over zeo clients) This is needed when using a loadbalancer. On zope.org this problem is solved but how? Could this problem be solved in conjunction with Core Session Tracking? And if how? Thanks in advance Jens Grewen
