Hi, Query in the topic from postgresql database returns from psql line, years, months and days. From testing same query in zope i get only days, is there a way to force it to return as psql does return it? As in: brain_dev=# select age(birthday) from web_users; age ------------------------ 13 years 8 mons 8 days (записей: 6) brain_dev=# thanks Pavel

Hi, I would like to know what is the use of implementing the Zpublisher.Iterators.IStreamIterator on the object returned as the body of a HTTP response. As far as I could read the Zope code (Zserver, etc), this will make the response data to be sent 64k at a time. So will this improve performance/concurrency in any way for >64k data HTTP responses? Path expression in Python based script

Hi, I am beginner working with Zope. I like it but I have some doubts: I have an structure with folders and subfoulders, each folder and subfolder has items. I want to go round this structre with a Python based script, to know the number of elements i do the following: path="animals" items=len(context.sections.path.contentValues()) When I try to run the script I get an error saying that the variable "path" is not present. If i do: items=len(context.sections.animals.contentValues()) everything is ok, How can I refer to a variable into a path expression in a Python Based Script? User management messed up?

Hello everybody, a few days we migrated from Zope 2.7.0 to Zope 2.9.0 (ok, the up-to-date version is 2.9.4, but we had this version compiled some time ago and now finaly migrated the DB), and now we are experiencing problems with our user management. To migrate the DB I just exported everything from the old zope instance and importet it again into the new Zope Instance, Products and Extensions were just copied from the old to the new instance. Everything, except user management, works quite fine, only the Localizer-Product had to be replaced by a newer version. We have a subfolder 'z' where we have an exUserFolder that imports users from a MySQL DB, below this subfolder 'z' there is anotherfolder 'y' (t.m. <root>/z/y), and the users in the exUserFolder in 'z' have the rights to access the folder 'y'. When I now give an additional right to 'Anonymous' within folder 'y', folder 'y' cannot be accessed anymore by the users defined in the exUserFolder. Another problem is that creating User Folders and users within these folders does not work properly any more, t.m. such folders and users can be created but the particular user cannot login although they should have proper permissions. I have no clue by what these problems are caused. I would be very grateful if someone could give me a hint. Could this problem be related to a wrong apache configuration? Is it possible that the DB got messed up when I imported it into 2.9.0? Or may incompatibilities of a special Product with 2.9.0 cause these troubles? Thanks in advance, Fabian

POST from Zope to external server and receive RESPONSE

Hello folks, I'm sure this question has been answered before but bear with me - Zope isn't my forte and I couldn't see anything like the problem I'd like to solve on the Zope list. I've inherited a project that now needs to post an XML packet to an ecommerce gateway, ie a user submits, via a form, credit card details which are posted to a Zope server. The Zope server then builds an XML packet and wants to POST to an external server which will send a RESPONSE. Can I capture that RESPONSE in Zope or must I use external methods and something like Python's httplib. I've done similar things with curl lib and C++, php curl lib and php. Any hints folks? David

automated object exporting

Hi, I have a Zope object (a Plone site, to be specific) that I would like to have exported on a regular basis so I can back it up to another server. While I am familiar with Python, I'm not familiar with the specific methods involved in interacting with Zope for this. How would I go about doing this? Thanks, -Sascha

Dictionary in ZPT

Dears, I am looking for help. I want to pass, when submitting a FORM from a page template, dictionary. I started with that: tal:define="global count python: 0; global data python: {}" ... and I would like to do something like: tal:define="global data['jname'] python: jname" or tal:define="global null python: data['jname']=jname" But I get only error. Is there a way of creating and increasing a dict inside Zope template page? Many thanks in advance. issue with a ZODB database conflict error

I'm getting this error on trying to add a new file to a Plone site. Plone 2.1.3 Zope 2.8.7. The object I was trying to add was a PloneExFile. 2006-09-26T19:25:52 INFO ZODB.Conflict database conflict error (oid 0x7b41, class Products.CMFPlone.Portal.PloneSite) at /VirtualHostBase/site/VirtualHostRoot/createObject (1 conflicts, of which 0 were unresolved, since startup at Tue Sep 26 15:15:40 2006) Any ideas? What happens is that on adding the file Zope just egg timers for ages and this appears in the logs. In the end a new file is added but that's only after many many minutes etc -- michael
