Z SQL Method question

Hello, Who has experience with Z SQL Method. I Created a from to enten some data into MySQL server. I used Z SQL Method to write the dat into the databse. Everytime I submit the form I get a screen with the field in my Z SQL Method component. How can I write the dat from a form into my database at once by using Z SQL Method ? left frame loads after a very long time

Hi, loading the ZMI with a browser is usually a rather long process but since we updated the OS on our machine (Suse 10.1 with GCC 4.1) the left frame (manage_menu) needs now more than 4mn to be loaded eating all the cpu. We use a ZEO-configuration with Zope-2.8.7. I installed the ZopeProfiler but can't figure out much of the output. The script "ClientStorage.py" is the one that takes the longest time by far. Any clues as to what might be wrong there or where I should have a look to understand the problem more deeply? Thanks in advance for any help. Raphael

Ghost user in Zope 2.7.6 on Win32

We have a strange case of a user disappearing from the acl_users folder. The user used to be there and has been using the web site for some months but today, she reports that she has lost her permissions. Investigation revealed that her user id had disappeared from acl_users (it was the only one in there) at that folder level. Using the ZMI, I added her back in and it all seemed OK but then I realised I had given her the wrong role. I went back and corrected the role but she disappeared again. Now, even though the folder is showing "There are no users defined", when I try and add her back in, I get "A user with the specified name already exists". I experimented a bit more. I added another user and gave it Manager role. I can't delete this one. I added another user and gave it one of our roles, Reviewer (the same as the original ghost user). This one vanished immediately. Can anyone offer any clues as to what might be happening here? Is it safe to delete and re-create the acl_users folder? relevance ranking in ZCTextIndex or equivalent

Hi, I'm planning to implement a text search where (match against the title) ranks more highly than (match in the description) ranks more highly than (matches against the body text). Titles and descriptions are short bits of text, so results in these categories can be ranked just by the frequency that the word appears in that part of the text. Matches against the body text should ideally be ranked more like ZCTextIndex rather than plain frequency. My ideas are: - do three separate searches, and then concatenate the result sets together. problem: making sure there are no duplicates in the list without parsing all the results in their entirety. - hijack the 'scoring' part of the index, so those results with matches in the title can have their scores artificially heightened to achieve the ordering i want problem: it's compleletely opaque without a lot of study whether this would achieve what i want. i'd also need to index the items so the index knew what was in the title, which could be a problem. - index title, description and text separately, and then use dieter's AdvancedQuery product to do the query and combine results problem: is it possible to get at the scores when the documents are returned from the index to be able to order them? are the scores returned separately, or will each query overwrite the last one? Has anyone ever tried to do this - or got any pointers - at all? Thanks in advance, Miles

os module on different os's

I have a Zope application that runs on WinXP and Debian sarge without problems. I am using os.popen and popen2 to run locally installed applications and use their output in Zope (particularly aspell and diction). On Ubuntu Dapper and FC5 however, these os calls fail. Is there a problem with recent Distros and this module? Python version is 2.3 on all systems but I tried 2.4 on FC5 and that failed too. regards garry

Hi all. I don't think this is a specific Zope problem. However, I'm experiencing it in a Zope context, and this is why I'm here asking. In a custom Zope application, we have a problem with Internet Explorer. The application follows a "page -> submit -> redirect -> page" cycle. To state more clearly: the page presented to the user can have a link. When the user clicks on the link, something is done, and eventually the user is redirected to the same page which will display different data based on the results of its previous click. The problem is that when IE sees that the result page has the same URL as the first page it does not reload the page and instead shows me the cached version. The problem is not shown with Firefox. As far as I can understand, this is an HTTP header issue, but I would like to know if anyone already has experienced this problem, and has some solution about it.
