(Script) Python needs xmlrpclib

There are magical things beyond my control happening - security mechanisms. As this is a security issue and there is no way (that I know) around it -- its that much more frustrating. 99% of sane people, in development - would like to turn MOST security restrictions off. Is there a way to tell Guard.py, "down boy!" ?? dealing with BEA Weblogic (which relies on Java's security model) -- there are the same issues. but you can basically tell the Java Security model allow_what_god_shouldnt_be_able_to_do. please someone shed light on this. it seems no one I run across understands how to do this (use External Method, is the response I get) or anything about the new security model of ZOPE. -- which *appears* to be understandable and sane. NOTE: External Methods (which are what most people use, I would bet) have 0 security mechanism. that is why they are so powerful. ZOPE preaches TTW. DB incomatibility between 2.3.0 and 2.3.2

Hi, I was just playing around with databases from Zope 2.3.0 and 2.3.2, trying to exchange them at once and also trying to export and import *.zexp from one to another and I keep running into errors. Is there a known incompatibiliy between 2.3.0 and 2.3.2 DBs? The error seems to come from ZCatalogs. If I delete the ZCatalogs and build them up new from hand the DBs work. Uploading photos into an SQL database

...Never mind the why. The photo data (small - 80kb JPEGs) has to go into the PostgresSQL database. I'm using something like this: SQL_add_photo: insert into photo (id,data) values ( <dtml-sqlvar id type=int>, <dtml-sqlvar data type=string>) add_photo: container.SQL_add_photo(id,file.read()) index_html: <form action="add_photo" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="text" name="id"> <input type="file" name="file"> <input type="submit" name="Add"> </form> But I get: Error Type: Programming Error Error Value: ERROR: Unterminated quoted string insert into photo (id,data) values ( 17, '<y-umlaut><a accent> Any ideas? I'm trying to write a html page where some parts gets displayed only if the user has logged in. If the person is not logged in, it should display some generic text, with perhaps a "login" button somewhere. I'm also trying to do this from an external method. For one thing, I'm not sure if I need to add another role or another permission. I can't seem to be able to add another permission, I only see the ability to add a user role. So I tried that, and used SecurityManager.validate(). But it forces you to login, whereas I want a more passive approach. I bypassed this by adding a unique number (as described in the "Searchable Job Board" How-To) to the string I want to do seaching on. Again my question is: Is this behaviour *normal*.
