As for me, I am very happy with the speed at which DC implements change. Especially the speed at which they come out with security fixes.

I expected that, Michel. ;) Although I'd already tried it without success, your reply at least nudged me to poke around a bit more, and I discovered that it is the .read() that causes the difficulty. This: <dtml-boundary type=application/octet-stream disposition=attachment encode=base64><dtml-var expr="restrictedTraverse(SendDoc).read()"></dtml-mime> </dtml-sendmail> fails with an attribute error on the read(). I got the read() syntax from the Zope book http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/AdvDTML.dtml and an archived list message http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2000-August/116944.html. It appears to be incorrect for this case, though I'll be damned if I know why. For the record, REQUEST.resolve_url still failed with a namespace error when I removed the read(). CMF Dogbowl: Presentation Notes, Slides, etc.

Tres has set up a page on the CMF Dogbowl to collect together Presentation Notes, Slides, etc on Content Management, Zope and/or the CMF. While he's distracted by the CMF 1.1 release and his vacation plans, I've sneakily added links to three that I know of. Anyone know of any others that are available on the net? Cheers, Jon

2GB Limit & Best Zope Platform

Hi I'm piloting Zope for our company on a small Intel WS running under Widows NT (4.0 & Zope 2.3.2). Now I have to prepare the production server (medium sized, ~500Users, ~25 concurrent users). My question is, which server/OS is the best to use. Our provider is inclined that we use an Sun / Solaris server. Is there a reason not to use Sun/Solaris? What about the 2Gb filesize limitation on some OS? Does that apply to NT / Solaris / Linux /FreeBSD (or is that problem solved with Zope 2.4.x ? ;-) ). Hi, Thanks for making this product available. I have a quick question. The FAQ index_html contains the code below. What causes the posting to randomly rotate? How do you make it constant? Casey, . Thanks for the quick response. I tried calling it using apply, but I couldn't get the call right. It looked like other code called something like apply(DTMLFile(file,globals()),(),kw) but I don't know what arguments it needs--if it works without arguments, I don't think I tried that. Anyway, if that's the correct approach, I'll play around with it some more until I get it to work. PostgreSQL and external method

I am trying to hook up a PostgreSQL database to Zope through an external method. Here's my method: def hello(): import sys from pg import DB conn = DB('demodb',user='skippy') x = conn.query("SELECT * from testtable") return x It works from the Python command line. But in my Zope page I get <pg query result> Also, is there a single best adapter for Postgres? I'm using PyGreSQL (the FreeBSD port) but I have heard others say it is horribly broken. I can't seem to find much in the way of documentation for installing and using the various adapters (psycopyg, PyGreSQL).
