strange catalog problem

Here's a weird one. I'm testing out my products catalog functionality, and I'm seeing strange results. I add an object "A" with an indexed variable called 'styles' that contains the values: ['Ambient', 'Breakbeat', 'Downtempo'] I add a second object "B" with the varaibles: ('Ambient', 'Breakbeat', 'Downtempo', 'Hardcore', 'Hip-Hop', 'House', 'Jungle', 'Techno', 'Trance') When I search for these varables, the results get somewhat mixed up. 3 incorrect searches out of 8. search for: results: Ambient B* Breakbeat A&B Downtempo A&B Hardcore A* Hip-Hop * House B Jungle B Techno B Trance B All these variables are inputted through a select box, so the spelling/case should be identical. There's some kind of a pattern here though, I don't quite see it. this is the call that I'm using to index the object: self.Catalog.catalog_object(ob,'Promoters/'+id) Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Zsql_method doesnt work

Hi, I have the ZSQL-Method: arguments : login select user_passwd as real_password from users where users.user_login=<dtml-sqlvar name=login type=string> when I now press "change and test" and insert a valid login into the Login-field I get: Error, Missing Input: Missing input variable, login What am I doing wrong ???? Other methods I made this way are working fine ... Thanks, Mario

Sorting a list

I have a list: mylist=[('R',31),('I',80),('A',80),('S',23),('E',35),('C',21)] I want to rebuild the list sorted from high to low on the sequence-item. When i call <dtml-in mylist sort=sequence-item reverse> the list gets sorted on the sequence-key not the sequence-item. As I understand the alphabetical characters are the sequence-keys and the float values are the sequence-items. Where do misunderstand? Roché

Richard - A notice was sent out to the list a week or so ago on this - there is a bug in the packing machinery that (as you found) doesn't correctly handle things when you pack to certain time and then subsequently pack to an earlier time. acl_user problem

I just installed a fresh 2.2b3 on x86 Linux. I ran the install, fixed the permissions on my var directory (nobody:users) and started Zope. I logged in as the superuser and created a new acl_user (zopeAdmin) with a "Manager" role. When I try and log in as "zopeAdmin" it just keeps prompting me for the password and won't let me in as that user or any other user (except the superuser). I'm I missing something painfully obvious? Hi, Yes, I had tried that, but, I had some little a syntax problem that was causing zope to throw an error, and I thought it was because it didn't like the use of dtml-var in an sql call. From the advice here, and in a second response, I looked more closely at the error message and discovered the syntax error. : ( Thanks for helping out here. ciao! greg. Rewrite rules in .htaccess.

Hello, Has anyone manage to get the appropriate Rewrite rules to make zope.cgi the root when they live in .htaccess? The problem I was hitting had to do with getting the rewrite rule applied in an infinite loop, since .htaccess is parsed so late in the Apache processing. Thanks. -Otto.

Standard footer changed in tutorial?

I'm working on the tutorial in version 2.2b3 (I know, it's a beta, caveat emptor...) I did lesson 4, discussing the footer and putting the e-mail link to "webmaster" in. Then I went to lesson 5, and the footer appeared to have been changed back to the default footer (the zope gif image and link to zope.org) Does the tutorial reset it? If not, how did it happen? Thanks in advance - -Frank PS: And how about the code for the zope link? It seems to be invisible, but it would be nice to be able to include it if you modify the standard footer. (I suppose I could copy and paste from a rendered html page, but... isn't it somewhere in the object hierarchy?)
