I cannot reproduce on any of a fair number of NT boxes available to me, which leads me to believe that either: 1 the problem is a difference in our Zope installations (i.e. installed products) or 2 we each have a different set of gremlins active in our NT installations (1) should be fairly simple to diagnose. If you install a fresh, clean b2 on your NT box and start it with the *default* database and _no_ third party products installed, do you get these odd crashes? If not, then the next step is to determine which product is activating the problem. Virtual hosting on Linux: what's needed in BIND?

Hi, I am not really a Linux person, so I apologize if I show my ignorance here. :) For Zope/SiteAccess to work with virtual hosting, something needs to be done at the Linux BIND level. But I would like to know what exactly. Is it as simple as adding a whole bunch of cname lines into the database file? Also, is it possible to use wildcards in the database file for BIND? I mean, if you have many virtual sites, would it be possible (and wise?) to make it so all requests like *.mysite.com point to the Zope server? Or each virtual site's name must be explicitly entered into the BIND's database file? No management interface on port 80

I had my zope site up and running smoothly in test environment, without a glitch on port 8080 for about 2 weeks. I am using ZServer directly. Now I decided to make it live, on the default port 80. I installed Zope as root, with the command: zope_dir/install -u nobody Then I modified the start script and added -w 80 after z2.py and took out the -D flag. The problem I am facing now is that whenever I click to go to the management screen, I do not get any response back from the server. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciately. Thank you, -- sudhir

Install on Win98 for Newbie

catalogAware (so close)

Hi All. My product's catalog is now almost completely functional, only the refrence in the URL is wrong! In my test area, I create a person object, theat ends up here: http://localhost:8080/safezone/F_test/People/testperson/ The catalogAwareness adds the object to the site's catalog as: http://localhost:8080/safezone/F_test/safezone/F_test/People/testperson/ This URL still does display the object if called. Must be some inheritance quirk.?.? Have I done something wrong? Or is catalogAwareness finding something it shouldn't? Thanks for any hints! -ed-

Problem with LocalFS

Hello, I want to upload files to LocalFS. I created a LocalFS with the id: images I don´t want to use the existing addImageForm to create a new Image in the LocalFS. I want to use two DTML Methods uploadform ________________________________________________________________________ <form action="savefile" methode="POST" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data"> File<input type="file" name="file" size="25" value=""><br> <input type="submit" value="UPLOAD" ________________________________________________________________________ and send the data to: savefile ________________________________________________________________________ <dtml-call "images.manage_addImages('newfile',file,'titleof tempfile')"> ________________________________________________________________________ but this do not create a new image in the LocalFS. It creates an image in the Folder in which the the LocalFS exists. I do not understand why ???? Jens
