manage_addImage and Local FS
by Tom Scheidt 21 May '00

21 May '00

I want to use this: <dtml-call "manage_addImage(id=REQUEST['id'], file=REQUEST['file'])"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect( URL +'/success_html')"> but have the images placed into a folder in Apache. Can I send them directly? I have a local fs in the same folder as the above doc, should i send the images there, will the really end up in Apache? How can I do that? Thanks. What is holding me up it that I need to make it possible to INSERT and UPDATE records base on the persons name and not the id number. somthing along the lines of this. INSERT INTO address (per_id,street,city,state,zip) VALUES ('SELECT per_id FROM person WHERE first = '<dtml-var first>' AND last = '<dtml-var last>'','<dtml-var street>','<dtml-var city> ...etc; I can't seem to figure out the SQL statment to use. I need to use a SELECT as a VALUE in an INSERT statment some how. can that be done, or should I use a View with an UPDATE and INSERT rule ? Richard

RE: [Zope] Calling External Method...

Your xCGI Python function has a docstring and is therefore web-callable, so basically you're letting anyone who can access your Zope instance run any program on your server by passing it in as the cmdLine, e.g. http://yourserver/ExecCGI?cmdLine=rm%20-rf%20*. I know that's not your problem right now, but you should reconsider this decision at some point. > /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py, > line 248, in __call__ > (Object: ExecCGI) > (Info: (('./websim',), {}, None)) > File /usr/local/Zope/Extensions/ExecCGI.py, line 11, in xCGI > TypeError: (see above) I *think* this error message is telling you that it can't format the status code as an integer in your raise statement. Why don't you take out your status checking code and see what happens.

Squishdot Interfaces Now Documented
by Chris Withers 21 May '00

21 May '00

The python interfaces that Squishdot provides, some of which are available in DTML, are now documented at: http://zope.nipltd.com/Squishdot/Squishterfaces I realised that this was a necessary step before trying to add the ZCatalog-based indexing that will be the main feature of Squishdot 0.4.0 and will enabel Squishdot to work wih Zope 2.2 as well as fixing some bugs. cheers, Chris

ZopeLDAP creation problem
by Stephen Harrison 21 May '00

21 May '00

Ok, I'm probably missing something obvious here, but at the moment it's evading me. I've installed ZLDAP, but am unable to create a ZLDAPConnection. Whenever I try I get the error: Error Type: INVALID_CREDENTIALS Error Value: {'desc': 'Invalid credentials'} I've also noticed that if you try to create a ZLDAPConnection and not open it at the same time, you get the error Invalid request The parameter, openc, was omitted from the request. This makes me think that I'm not entering the correct information for the server, but it's not obvious what. Any ideas? Cheers, Stephen

Zwiki permissions
by Graham Chiu 21 May '00

21 May '00

I would like to grant anonymous the ability to edit/add a zwiki page, but they can't. the docs say: grant the 'Change ZWiki Page' permission; and to allow page creation, grant the 'Add ZWiki Page' permission. but those permission attributes are not present in my installation of .6 It's at http://www.compkarori.co.nz/x.php?/zwiki -- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz http://www.compkarori.co.nz/index.php Powered by Interbase and Zope

Re: [Zope] : generic adddtmlDocument method need to find extra form data type

The ZPublisher uses ":<type>" suffixes in argument names (and thereby form field names) to convert the (necessarily) string content to the appropiate type. And, of cause, it raises an exception, if this is impossible. If you want do the conversion by yourself, use a different suffix, e.g. "__<type>". Maybe "-<type>" or something in the same spirit will work, too. Dieter

This will change with Python 1.6 expected to be released near the middle of the year. Dieter

Announcing enterlinux.com final public beta
by Nitin Borwankar 21 May '00

21 May '00

enterlinux.com is a Zope and PTK based site. enterlinux.com is another fine production from the folks at codeit.com. * It is a vertical portal for the enterprise user of Linux. * If you are in the market for a Linux Server you might want to check out RaFiQi - the Request for Quotes service that sends simultaneous requests to multiple vendors. * Other interesting areas of the site include the Community area which includes extensions to the PTK. These allow users to contribute content to specific areas of the site and to rate links, documents, news items and user behavior. * The resources section has a Linux Directory of Sites which is the Linux subtree from dmoz.org * There is also a page with the search forsm of some popular Linux and Open Source sites. enterlinux.com requires registration for use of the ecommerce area. I would like to invite all zopistas to run the site through it's paces and send feedback to me nitin(a)borwankar.com, rather than webmaster. Thanks, Nitin Borwankar, Founder enterLinux.com, nitin(a)borwankar.com
