More than one SQL command in a ZSQL method?
by Oliver Wrede 24 Feb '00

24 Feb '00

How can I put more than one SQL command in a ZSQL method? (I am using ZMySQLDA) It seems that is a bit of a problem, because the demicolon delimiter ";" seems to spit out an error... Oliver .. RE: [Zope] Private Product Objects (was: object icons)

As an extra note: Security can be taken care of by using a Proxy role on the Event, or by adding support for a username/password propery combo (Events are called using ZClient, because the Events have to be called independent of current web requests, and you do need a HTTP REQUEST context). -- Martijn Pieters, Software Engineer | Digital Creations http://www.digicool.com | Creators of Zope http://www.zope.org | mailto:mj@digicool.com ICQ: 4532236 | PGP: http://wwwkeys.nl.pgp.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xA8A32149 -------------------------------------------

RE: [Zope] sequence-key usage
by Martijn Pieters 24 Feb '00

24 Feb '00

From: Jim Sanford [mailto:snafford@bellsouth.net] > > Does anyone know how sequence-key should/can be used within a > dtml-in construct? If you pass in a list of 2-item tuples (like [(1,1), (2,1), (3,1)]), then sequence-key is the first item of every 2-item tuple, and sequence-item is every second element. This also works for any other combo of tuples and lists, as long as the contained lists/tuples are two items long. <dtml-in "[(1,1), (2,1), (3,1)]"> &dtml-sequence-key;: &dtml-sequence-item;<BR> </dtml-in> would print 1: 1 2: 1 3: 1 The objectItems method, for example, returns a list of id, subobject tuples. sequence-key would then hold the id, and sequence-item the subobject. -- Martijn Pieters, Software Engineer | Digital Creations http://www.digicool.com | Creators of Zope http://www.zope.org | mailto:mj@digicool.com ICQ: 4532236 | PGP: http://wwwkeys.nl.pgp.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xA8A32149 -------------------------------------------

Calculations - more dumb questions.
by Richard Moon 24 Feb '00

24 Feb '00

I was reading earlier postings about 'variables' or the lack of them in Zope and I went off and investigated Python Methods and External Methods and I've got them working ... but .. I can't figure out how to use them to solve my problem ... I have an SQL method and I've generated the form and results report using the standard wizard - absolutely wonderful. Let's say I have an input variable, called 'customer' on the form which is passed to the SQL method. BUT I want to intercept that variable and do something with it, let's keep it simple and say that I want to put the string "CT" in front of what the user enters (I know that's trivial but for the sake of argument). I can write an External Method or Python Method which does the necessary but it returns the string back to the calling object as text which is displayed by the browser. Can anyone tell me how to get that new string back into the variable 'customer'. Please :-) Richard Moon richard(a)dcs.co.uk

Calendar tag
by Cornelis J. de Brabander 24 Feb '00

24 Feb '00

I want to implement a editable calendar. As a first step I installed the Calendar Tag product and followed the Jon Udell How-To almost to the letter (except for user Flintstone). I created a external method called editCalendarProperty referring to a function with the same name and a Python module Calendar.CalendarItem (CalendarItem.py was placed in a Extensions subdirectory of the Calendar product directory). Without 'date' properties the document renders fine. After editing the calendar a property is added to the document with the correct value, but the document fails to render anymore due to: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: not enough arguments for format Traceback (innermost last): File D:\Zope212\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 214, in publish_module File D:\Zope212\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 179, in publish File D:\Zope212\lib\python\Zope\__init__.py, line 202, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: ElementWithAttributes) File D:\Zope212\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 165, in publish File D:\Zope212\lib\python\ZPublisher\mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: index_html) File D:\Zope212\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 102, in call_object (Object: index_html) File D:\Zope212\lib\python\OFS\DTMLDocument.py, line 166, in __call__ (Object: index_html) File D:\Zope212\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_String.py, line 502, in __call__ (Object: index_html) File D:\Zope212\lib\python\Products\Calendar\CalendarTag.py, line 282, in render TypeError: (see above) By inspecting CalendarTag.py I have tried to figure out what might be the problem, but my Python competence is simply still not sufficient. Does anybody have a clue? tia, cb.

Worldpilot error, and fix :)
by Bill Anderson 24 Feb '00

24 Feb '00

If you try to modify a calendar entry that you do'nt have permission for (but can obviously see :), you will get a syntax error. The problem: The in Worldpilot/Resource.py the phrase that is supposed to be returned is: 'You don't have permission...' Compete with the same quotemarks. The fix: I just did a global search/replace and swapped "don't" with "do not". That's it. Setting content-type on HEAD request

I have the following code in standard_html_header, and <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type', 'text/html')"> when a GET request comes to the URL, the content-type header in the HTTP response appears correctly.
