Zope won't run on Win2000?

Hi all - I've been running Zope (2.1.4) for a while on NT4sp6 as a service. After installing Windows 2000 Professional a fresh install of Zope won't run. It shows as a service that should start automatically, but it doesn't start even after rebooting. Trying to start the service manually returns an unknown error according to Windows. The install of Zope itself seemed to occur without error. Anyone have any ideas? Are others running Zope on w2k? Thanks Michael Simcich AccessTools

Missing content_type

Hi All. I am uploading files not using the management-interface but extra defined forms. <form action="upload" enctype="multipart/form-data" method=post> [bla bla] </form> Ok. Then I call the "object_add(_.None,_, NoRedir=1)" method which adds the object. a) I have to call "manage_editProperties(REQUEST)" in order to set the title-property b) after I do this, the "content_type" property is empty. How is this? I am using Zope2.1.2, Linux/intel and Win32 Thanks for your help, regards Ingo.

bug/defect tracking w/CVS

Anyone heard of or used a bug/defect tracking system which would allow people to report defects via a website and developers to comment on them. I have an idea there is one which integrates with cvs, but I'm having trouble tracking it down. Regards, Ray Thompson

Selection lists forgetting items

Ok, now I see what you mean about Zope sending you back to its 'default' view after you update an instance with your new Propery Sheet Interface. I'm now trying to implement what you've found out. Meanwhile, how about a quick question on selection lists? I've looked at the Howto, but it doesn't work like it should. I've created an attribute of type lines in my PropertySheet. It contains two lines: Open and Closed. First, creating a new instance you select which of the choices you want. Then, later.... I want a pop-up selection on my custom Propery Sheet View that allows you to change between these values. It works the first time, but 'loses' the non-selected value when I come back to switch it again. <select name="status:lines"> <dtml-in status> <option value="<dtml-var sequence-item>"> <dtml-var sequence-item> </option> </dtml-in> </select> I guess that makes some sense. What I need then is for the sequence-item to point back _not_ to this instance, but to my propertSheet which has BOTH values all the time. dtml-var question

I have a DTMLMethod named foo. I can access this method by using the following statement: <dtml-var foo> If I wanted to use the "quoted" syntax to access this method (perhaps because it resides in some other folder) which of the following is exactly equivalent to the statement above: <dtml-var "foo()"> or <dtml-var "foo(_.None, _)"> or neither? What permission is needed to view a ZClass instances propertysheets?

Hello, I have a method within a folder that clones an instance of a ZClass, and tries to set its properties. Here is the code: <dtml-with "manage_clone(BaseProject, REQUEST['projUser'],REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.project_info.manage_changeProperties( ProjectName=REQUEST['projName'], ProjectNumber=REQUEST['projNumber'], ClientName=REQUEST['clientName'], )"> </dtml-with> Unfortunately, I get an 'Unauthorized' error trying to access 'propertysheets' every time it is called, unless I am logged in as the main administrator. I also get it with a user assigned a role that has all permissions turned on. I even get when logged in as a user that is defined as a manager at the top level. It also works if I set a proxy role on the method, but I'd rather only give the permissions to the users who are supposed to be able to call the method... Any ideas? Is this some weird bug, or something I am overlooking? I assume its the later... Thanks, Hunter

Well, I have got it to work, by putting a CODEBASE="http://something/somethingelse/" into the applet tag... why this would result in a null pointer exception is beyond me... Java... go figure... Are those available for d/l anywhere, or do I need to actually (*gasp* :-) purchase something...? I saw a HOW-TO for using FreeTDS, but I think that one required the newer libraries as well. Zope with MySQL

Hi. I just installed Zope, and I'm having a little difficulty installing either of the modules to connect to a MySQL database. I have tried both ZMySQLDA-1.1.3 and MySQLdb-0.1.0. I am always ending up with the same error: gcc -fpic -I/usr/local/mysql/include -I/usr/include/mysql -g -O2 -I/usr/loc al/include/python1.5 -I/usr/local/include/python1.5 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c ./MySQLmodule.c ./MySQLmodule.c: In function `pythonify_row': ./MySQLmodule.c:238: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type ./MySQLmodule.c: In function `pythonify_res_fields': ./MySQLmodule.c:384: invalid lvalue in unary `&' ./MySQLmodule.c: In function `STH_fetchdict': ./MySQLmodule.c:1125: invalid lvalue in unary `&' ./MySQLmodule.c:1147: invalid lvalue in unary `&' make: *** [MySQLmodule.o] Error 1 Both modules give me similar errors, the one above is from ZMySQLDA-1.1.3.
