RE: [Zope] Zope versions and Emacs

Gents, Well, you could always try W3 under Emacs (just kidding, not sure how it does under X, but on my NT machine it doesn't work very well as a management interface). The problem isn't so much one of Emacs not working with cookies, it is of FTP (which is what efs is using) not working with cookies. The DC folks had some comments on this a ways back (check the list archives) and the conclusion was that the FTP protocol just didn't have the support built in for Zope's more sophisticated management capabilities. I wonder how much work it would be to get WebDAV support into XEmacs? I'm not too familiar with WebDAV, but does this provide a better map to Zope's management functionality? dupe id's

Hi, If you modify 'def _checkId(self, id, allow_dup=0)' in '/lib/python/OFS/ObjectManager.py' to 'def _checkId(self, id, allow_dup=1)' and you upload (via load_site.py) an object with an existing id-name, something weird happens when you look at the content of its container in the management console: there seem to be 2 objects in it with the same id. they seem to be just pointers to the same object, because if you delete 1, they're both gone. Can anybody explain this / fix this? maarten. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com

Thanks all for suggestions. <dtml-with "PARENTS[-1].folder1.object1"> works. That's great but in PARENTS[-1] is still a mystery, particulary '-1' !! FR

dtml-tree url-parameter question
by Oliver Wrede 16 Feb '00

16 Feb '00

... hmm ... I just too dumm for these documentation ... I could not find an example of how to use the url-attribute in the dtml-tree-tag. I have a page which is called like this: http://hostname/mypage?myVal=10 Within that page I have a dtml-tree. When I try to expand the expansion-urls do not habe the "?myVal=10" parameter anymore. Whatever I put into the url-parameter of the tree-tag, does not seem to influence the expansion urls... Oliver .. Oliver Wrede .. owrede(a)khm.de .. Academy of Media Arts, Cologne .. What does this message mean? "Error 200"

Hi, Can anyone interpret this for me? Do these references to medusa mean someone is trying to access some chat program in Zope? Locate an object in zope tree
by Francois-Regis CHALAOUX 16 Feb '00

Hi Zoppers, My zope tree is : / folder1 object11 folder2 folder3 object31 How to use objet11 in object31, which path is it? I tried <dtml-with "folder1.object11"> but zope can't find this object11 !! Certainly an acquisition problem, but in my case I can't assume the position of folder1, base or url objects are ineffective when you are deep in the tree. Bye, FR.

easy tree question
by Oliver Wrede 16 Feb '00

How to hide tree items which do not have a title? As a newbie I still have some problems in understanding when to use objectnames, functions, namespace-prefixes in different DTML attributes. So after going through all the documents about the tree-tag, I could not figure above out via trial&error... What I understand is a) that it has to be a certain expression either in the expr, branches oder branches_expr attribute (but which?) b) it has to be more that just smomething like expr="title", within the tree-tag, because _this_ title in particular is only one specific (the one of the document the tree tag is in) c) To get the title of each iteration-object in the tree, I have to put a function somewhere in the tree-tag, which retrieves the local title of the current tree-object (but I couldn't figure that out.. getattr() or getitem()? what syntax?) Any hints welcome... Oliver .. Oliver Wrede .. owrede(a)khm.de .. Academy of Media Arts, Cologne .. Peter-Welter-Platz 2 . 50676 Koeln, Germany .. http://www.khm.de .. ICQ# 6580315 .. Is it possible that you need to put the headers and footers inside <TR><TD> </TD></TR> ? Have a look at the HTML source - are the headers and footers in the right place in the source? DTML-TREE problems -- any experienced arborists out there
by Richard Wackerbarth 16 Feb '00

16 Feb '00

I'm trying to use header/footer to do this and they don't seem to get called in the order I would expect. I have the following structure: Volume 1 Jan 1998 Article 1 Article 2 Feb 1998 Article 3 Article 4 .... Dec 1998 Article 99 Volume 2 Jan 1999 Article 101 ... It's easy to get a "tree" display of the articles. However, I need to stick some text in the middle of the tree. - Volume 1 - Jan 1998 This issue is about snow geese ...... - Article 1 All eggs are not golden. In fact, .... + Article 2 Reader survey ..... + Feb 1998 - Mar 1998 This issue is about racoons ..... + Article 5 + Article 6 Reader survey .... .... Shouldn't be too hard. Put the "About paragraph" in a header and the "Reader survey" in the footer. Then add a little code to distinguish the tree depth so that we only expand headers and footers at the "month" level of the tree. However, this is what I get. Header Volume 1 Header Jan 1998 Header Article 1 Footer Article 1 Footer Jan 1998 Header Mar 1998 ... Footer Volume 1 Footer Animal Matters - Volume 1 - Jan 1998 - Article 1 All eggs are not golden. In fact, .... + Article 2 + Feb 1998 - Mar 1998 + Article 5 + Article 6 ALL the headers and footers are processed BEFORE any of the tree is rendered. Anyone got any insights? -- Richard Wackerbarth rkw(a)Dataplex.NET
